The role supports technology services spanning market access, pricing, execution, trade capture, risk, valuations, confirmations, settlement, finance, regulatory reporting and control processes. Service failure, stale data, delayed processing or unresolved exceptions may affect trading continuity, risk visibility, financial control and client outcomes.The Trading Systems Support Analyst / Specialist owns the operational health of assigned services once they are in production. The incumbent diagnoses complex application and infrastructure issues, coordinates service restoration, manages operational exceptions, supports change and release activity, and engineers preventative improvements through monitoring, AIOps, machine learning and automation. The role also participates in analysis, testing and implementation to ensure that solutions are supportable, observable, secure and resilient by design.\nKey Responsibilities:\nMacro environment\nIs aware of emerging technologies and remains abreast of industry/ technology concepts and ideas which could impact on their area of accountability\nRemaining technologically savvy with all platforms in the teams’ portfolio of applications\nCreate a repository of internal learnings and external knowledge materials which could benefit the execution of work within the team.\nContinuously look at improving service delivery through proactive monitoring and alerting\nSoftware Quality Assurance\nUnderstand the release\nPrepare test scenarios to test the release\nExecute the test cases\nHold triage sessions with vendors and stakeholders\nBusiness service alignment\nApply experiential knowledge to trouble-shoot and resolve instances where service levels do not meet the agreed requirements\nResponsible for software quality assurance\nService handover\nCompile and Enhance user training material and business readiness assessments\nAccess management\nMaintain security administration processes and ensure that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures\nIncident management\nIncident Ownership - Owns incident until resolved\nPrioritise and diagnose incidents within the relevant areas according to agreed procedures\nInvestigate causes of incidents and seek resolution within diverse but standardised precedents and procedures by applying operational knowledge and learnings\nEscalate unresolved or complex incidents to the appropriate level\nDocument and close resolved incidents according to the agreed procedures and tools\nCommunicate the resolution actions and outcomes to the relevant business stakeholder\nDefect management, upgrades/enhancements and projects\nAbility to scope, plan, execute and close tasks which include defect management, upgrades/enhancements and projects effectively\nFacilitate one-on-one or group workshops to elicit, analyse, communicate and validate requirements\nEnsure the consistent and accurate documenting of requirements\nStakeholder & Vendor Management\nAnticipates, recognises, and meets the needs of internal and external clients / stakeholders (however these are defined in the role), taking responsibility for maintaining the highest service standards and developing and sustaining productive client relationships\nAct speedily to resolve problems, queries and complaints\nInitiate meetings with key stakeholders to track progress, manage expectations, and ensure stakeholder requirements are delivered\nProvide effective feedback to stakeholders - both written and verbal communication\nOwn the outage management process by running the event with vendors and stakeholders\nDemonstrate the capacity to put people at ease and build sound relationships based on mutual trust and openness\nMinimum Qualifications and Knolwedge\nDiploma, IT, Degree, Business Intelligence or related qualification\nExperience\nExposure to AI and implementation of AI related projects\n2-5 years’ experience in Trading Systems across all asset classes\nExperience in API’s and FICS Protocol basics\nExperience in monitoring and alerting tools\nExperience in scheduling tools\nExperience with databased and networking protocols basics\nExperience in SQL\nTechnical Pre-requisite\nRelevant applications and process knowledge\nUnderstanding of SDLC\nBasic understanding of backups\nImportant Closing Date Note\nTake note that applications will not be accepted on the below date and onwards, kindly submit applications ahead of the closing date indicated below.\n29/10/26All appointments will be made in line with FirstRand Group’s Employment Equity plan.
