At FIS you’ll have the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging and relevant issues in financial services and technology.\nOur talented people empower us, and we believe in being part of a team that is open, collaborative, entrepreneurial, passionate and above all fun.\nHybrid in Puerto Rico (3 days in office) (On call) (Some Weekends)\nAbout the team\nThe team provides secure, reliable, and highly available database services for critical banking applications, with responsibilities spanning operations, performance, security, compliance, recovery, and cloud modernization.\nThis role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of database and cloud technologies while collaborating with teams across the organization to solve problems, improve services, and support important technology initiatives.\nWhat you will be doing\nThis is a Senior Database Engineer role supporting critical database environments and technology initiatives.\nYou will provide deep technical expertise across supported database platforms, troubleshooting complex database issues and supporting the design and execution of database solutions for major projects, including Azure migrations.\nResponsibilities Include\nDatabase installation and administrative duties.\nDatabase security and hardening, remediation, automation, standardization, and patching.\nImproving the reliability and efficiency of database services.\nAct as a technical resource for complex database activities and works to ensure database solutions meet operational, security, and technology requirements.\nProvide on-call support on a rotational basis.\nPartner with customers to support business and technology initiatives, providing responsive database expertise, clear communication, and a strong customer-service focus.\nWhat you bring\n8+ years of database administration or engineering experience.\nStrong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database.\nKnowledge of database security, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high availability.\nDevelop database standards, operational procedures, and engineering best practices.\nExperience supporting PCI DSS and SOX compliance requirements within database environments.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience collaborating across technical teams, application teams, customers, and business stakeholders.\nBonus if you have\nHands-on experience operating and supporting Oracle Exadata environments within OCI.\nHands-on experience with IBM Guardium for database security and monitoring.\nProven experience supporting mission-critical banking platforms and applications within a large enterprise environment.\nWhat we offer you\nA multifaceted job with a high degree of responsibility and a broad spectrum of opportunities.\nA modern, international work environment and a dedicated and motivated team.\nA competitive salary and benefits.\nThe chance to work on some of the most challenging, relevant issues in financial services & technology.\nA work environment built on collaboration, flexibility and respect.\nPrivacy Statement\nFIS is committed to protecting the privacy and security of all personal information that we process in order to provide services to our clients.
