Ensures accuracy, completeness and availability of data using various IBM support tools. Establishes and maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates and monitors policies, procedures and standards relating to database management. Proposes and implements enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. Researches and resolves database issues. The Lead DBA has more knowledge and experience in the inner mechanics of Db2, & who talks with IBM on DB2 issues. The Lead will be involved in mentoring and passing on that knowledge to less experienced DBAs\nWhat Part Will You Play?\nPerforms testing of database software, IBM utilities and fixes within a test (sandbox) environment prior to production roll out. Identifies and resolves issues while in the sandbox and upper environments. Performs the migration of tested/approved structures, utilities, and fixes to the production environment. Develops basic to moderately complex database configurations by creating database objects per specified business requirements according to standards and the necessary sandbox environments for testing. Works in close liaison with application developers and tech support to ensure best practices are applied to mitigate potential impacts or risks to the various user groups and/or other database configurations.\nCoaches less experienced Database Administrators (DBAs) as they begin to perform routine/basic database administration tasks.\nSchedules database tasks and ensures proper completion of scheduled tasks.\nExecute database recovery tasks during a disaster recovery scenario and/or disaster recovery exercise.\nImprove the reliability and efficiency of database processes and services.\nEnsure the high availability of the supported database(s) by actively monitoring database performance to identify bottlenecks, such as inefficient queries, inconsistent and/or corrupt indexes, database design, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.\nApplies routine database tuning and optimization techniques, such as rebuilding indexes, to maintain database performance. Monitor database statistic reporting on a regularly scheduled basis.\nWorks closely with the Applications Team while performing troubleshooting to determine the source of application failures. Assists in the development of solutions to minimize the potential of future application failures. Supports the implementation of solutions.\nProduces and maintains operational database documentation, such as Disaster Recovery, Recovery Presentation, Naming Standards, Performance and Tuning, to ensure database configurations are well documented in preparation for disaster recovery.\nAssists in the training and familiarization of less experienced team members regarding company policies and procedures, techniques and current server/database configurations.\nParticipate in Oncall rotation and occasional outages.\nWhat Are We Looking For in This Role?\nMinimum Qualifications\nRelevant Experience\nTypically, Minimum 8-10 Years Relevant Exp in Db2 for z/os\nInstallation, customization, testing, and maintenance of database systems within a production environment\nCritical thinking leading to solution-oriented approaches.\nTakes the initiative to work a task or issue.\nOperates independently who owns the task at hand.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate across technical teams and application teams.\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor's Degree\nLUW Db2 experience is a plus\nProgramming, operations or tech support experience is a plus\nWhat we offer you:\nA career at FIS is more than just a job. The pay range for this full-time position is $111,650.00 - $189,810.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay.
