If you want to grow personally and professionally, we’d like to know: Are you FIS?\nAbout the role\nWe are looking for a hands-on Senior Technical Consultant, Financial Software to work with financial institutions in Japan on the implementation and delivery of financial technology solutions.\nThis role is designed for someone who is comfortable going beyond functional requirements and working directly with the technical environment. You will work directly with clients to gather requirements, lead workshops, analyse business processes, design and configure solutions, support migration and integration activities, investigate issues and support testing throughout the implementation lifecycle.\nWhat you will be doing\nLead client workshops and requirements gathering sessions to understand their technical environment, architecture, interfaces, data, and implementation requirements.\nSupport data migration, conversion and reconciliation activities, including data validation and issue resolution.\nSupport system integration testing, user acceptance testing and defect triage activities.\nInvestigate application and implementation issues through hands-on analysis of system logs, databases, configuration, interfaces, and related technical component.\nUse SQL to analyze data, troubleshoot issues, validate results, and support implementation activities.\nAnalyze integration requirements and work with REST APIs, XML, and other system interfaces and data format.\nTroubleshoot technical issues across client environments and work with internal product, development and delivery teams to identify solution.\nSupport technical design, configuration, testing, deployment, and issue resolution throughout the implementation lifecycle.\nTranslate client requirements and technical findings into clear specifications and recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholder.\nCommunicate effectively with Japanese-speaking clients and English-speaking regional or global stakeholders.\nWhat you bring\nAt least 5 years of relevant experience in technical consulting, software implementation, application support, systems integration, software engineering, or a similar technology-focused role.\nExperience implementing, supporting, integrating, or troubleshooting financial software within banking, payments, lending, leasing, securities, risk, or another financial services environment.\nStrong SQL skills and confidence working directly with databases and data.\nHands-on troubleshooting skills, including the ability to investigate application and system logs rather than relying only on functional analysis.\nExperience with system integration, data migration, software implementation and or conversion projects.\nExperience working with REST APIs and XML.\nAbility to analyze a client's existing technology environment and understand how applications, data, interfaces, and systems interact.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a practical and hands-on approach to investigating technical issues.\nAbility to explain technical topics clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.\nEffective Japanese and English communication skills for working with clients and regional or global teams. Japanese proficiency of JLPT N2 or above, or equivalent business-level proficiency, is required.\nAdded bonus if you have\nExperience with C# or other object-oriented programming languages.\nExperience with asset finance, leasing, lending, or asset finance technology.\nExperience delivering financial software in a client-facing consulting or professional services environment.\nExperience with enterprise financial systems and complex integrations involving multiple applications or data sources.\nBroader experience with banking or payments technology.\nAsset finance experience is valuable but is not required.
