Combining a high-performance research Terminal with a modern, near-real-time fundamentals API and MCP server, Fiscal.ai is redefining financial data infrastructure for the AI era. The company serves thousands of institutional and professional Clients while reaching millions of end-users through API Clients.\nThe Role\nThe Fiscal.ai Terminal is used every day by thousands of investors to research companies: financial statements, segments and KPIs, estimates, ownership and insider activity, filings, valuation models, screening, and charting. When a chart won't load, a screen returns the wrong companies, or a paywalled cell unlocks for the wrong tier, our users notice immediately, because they know exactly how the product should behave.\nYou will own the quality of the Terminal. This is an engineering role, not a QA analyst role. You will find bugs, reproduce them, trace them to root cause across the frontend and backend, and ship the fix yourself. You will build the end-to-end test framework that stops those bugs from coming back. You will work alongside the engineers building the Terminal and the Fiscal.ai data infrastructure.\nIf you think this is the perfect fit for you, we'd love to hear specifically why, and which bug in a financial product you are proudest of having found and fixed.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn the inbound bug pipeline for the Terminal, including Sentry issues, customer-reported problems, and what you find yourself. Reproduce, prioritize, and fix or route every one of them.\nFix bugs across the stack: the React/Next.js frontend, the Cloudflare Workers backend, and the data layer between them. Investigate to the root cause and never patch the symptom.\nDesign and build the end-to-end test framework for the Terminal using Playwright, get it running in CI against preview deploys, and grow regression coverage of the flows that matter most: financials, charting, screener, portfolio, auth, subscriptions, and paywall.\nWrite unit and integration tests alongside your fixes so the same class of bug cannot ship twice.\nTurn what you learn into playbooks, including debugging guides, test conventions, and tooling the rest of the team uses.\nRequirements\nYou write good code, fast, and you fix what you find. If you want to file tickets for someone else to fix, this is not the role.\nProficiency in TypeScript, React, and Next.js.\nHands-on experience building end-to-end test automation (Playwright preferred) and unit tests (Vitest or Jest), and running them in CI.\nStrong debugging skills across the full stack: browser devtools, network traces, server logs, error monitoring, and database queries.\nExperience testing and debugging data-heavy applications where correctness matters, such as finance, analytics, or similar.\nProven experience or strong interest in investing and finance. Our platform is built by investors, for investors. You should be able to read an income statement, know what LTM and NTM mean, and recognize when a P/E ratio or free cash flow figure is obviously wrong. Ideally you already use Fiscal.ai, or a competing terminal, for your own research.\nUnderstanding of how paid data products work, including subscription tiers, entitlements, and paywalls.\nExperience or interest in AI technologies, specifically Large Language Models (LLMs), including using AI coding agents as part of your daily workflow.\nA keen eye for design, UI, and UX. You notice the misaligned column and the layout shift.\nBased in Canada.\nNice to Haves\nPython (our data pipeline is written in it).\nCloudflare Workers, Firebase/Firestore, and PostgreSQL.\nHighcharts or other charting libraries.\nFinance coursework, CFA progress, or professional investing experience.\nTech Stack\nWe work with a diverse set of tools and technologies, including:\nFrontend: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Tailwind, Mantine\nBackend and data: Cloudflare Workers, PostgreSQL, Firebase, Firestore\nTesting and CI: Playwright, Vitest, GitHub Actions\nObservability: Sentry, PostHog, Linear\nBenefits\nCompensation\n$120,000 - $140,000\nEquity\nPaid time off\nBenefits","description_format":"text","description_chars":4269,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Equity"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"Canada","iso":"CA","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Conversational AI"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-30T00:07:20Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":85,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.852,"p_room":1,"age_days":4,"expected_fill_days":26,"reasons":["conf:9","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-03T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/fiscal-software-engineer-product-quality","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/fiscal-software-engineer-product-quality.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-04T02:18:23Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":3274,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":1726,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-05T00:00:00Z"}}}
