The Role

Fiscal.ai is hiring a Technical Recruiter to help build the team behind the next generation of financial data infrastructure. You will own the full recruiting cycle for engineering and AI roles, from sourcing and outreach through interviewing, closing, and onboarding handoff.

You will find exceptional people before they are on the market, tell a compelling story about what we are building, and run a hiring process that is fast, rigorous, and a great experience for candidates. You will report directly to the CEO and CTO in a cross-functional capacity, partnering closely with leadership and hiring managers to define what great looks like for each role and help shape how Fiscal.ai hires as we scale.

This role is based in our Toronto office.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end recruiting process for engineering, AI, machine learning, and data roles.
• Proactively source top technical talent through LinkedIn, GitHub, referrals, communities, events, and your own network.
• Write compelling outreach and job descriptions that clearly communicate Fiscal.ai's mission and technical challenges.
• Conduct initial screens to assess technical background, motivation, and fit.
• Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, interview plans, and evaluation criteria.
• Coordinate and run interview loops, gather feedback, and drive timely hiring decisions.
• Manage offers and closing conversations, including compensation and equity discussions.
• Deliver an excellent candidate experience at every stage of the process.
• Maintain accurate pipeline data in our applicant tracking system and report on recruiting metrics.
• Build long-term talent pipelines and employer brand within the engineering and AI communities.

Requirements

• 3+ years of technical recruiting experience, either in-house or at an agency.
• A proven track record of sourcing and hiring software engineers and technical talent.
• Strong sourcing skills, with comfort reaching passive candidates who are not actively looking.
• Enough technical fluency to understand engineering and AI roles and hold credible conversations with candidates.
• Experience managing multiple searches at once while maintaining speed and quality.
• Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through.
• Strong judgment in assessing candidates and a high bar for talent.
• Ability to work from our Toronto office.

• Experience recruiting in fintech, financial data, or capital markets.
• An established network in the Toronto or New York engineering and AI communities.
• Experience with modern recruiting tools such as Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever, or LinkedIn Recruiter.
• Experience helping build recruiting processes, interview frameworks, or employer brand from the ground up.
