This is an opportunity for someone who understands construction, enjoys working with numbers and plans, and wants to grow into increasingly complex estimating responsibility\nYou will develop and review residential cost estimates, perform quantity takeoffs, document scope and assumptions, and help ensure that estimates translate accurately into purchase orders and field execution. You will work across Architecture, Site Design, Construction, Purchasing, and Finance to identify cost drivers, resolve discrepancies, and improve the systems and processes behind our estimates.\nYou Will Thrive in This Role If You…\nYou take pride in accurate work across estimates, purchase orders, and structured data inputs.\nYou appreciate clear processes, standardized workflows, checklists, and defined systems.\nYou can manage time and priorities to meet production deadlines in a high-volume environment.\nYou notice discrepancies and communicate clearly when seeking clarification or escalating non-standard, complex, or unclear scenarios.\nYou want to develop foundational construction and estimating knowledge through consistent, process-driven work.\nYou are committed to acting in the best interest of The Fischer Group, guided by strong moral and ethical values.\nThese skills will be used to:\nPrepare accurate cost estimates using standardized templates, established workflows, and approved estimating systems.\nGenerate and release purchase orders in alignment with defined timelines and production schedules.\nReview construction documents and selections to ensure alignment with estimates and identify discrepancies prior to release.\nProcess revisions and change orders in accordance with established procedures and system controls.\nConduct comparable job reviews to validate estimate accuracy and consistency.\nMaintain data integrity across estimating systems, Excel upload sheets, and structured templates.\nFollow established estimating standards, checklists, and workflow requirements to ensure consistency and quality.\nEscalate non-standard, complex, or unclear estimating scenarios to senior team members for review.\nSupport departmental production needs, including overflow estimating assignments, as required.\nDesired Qualifications:\nExperience in estimating, construction operations, data analysis, or a related field.\nExperience in residential construction or production homebuilding.\nExposure to estimating systems, ERP platforms, or database-driven workflows.\nBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.\nPhysical demands and work environment:\nMust have the ability to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders through telephone and face-to-face interaction.\nMust be able to operate standard office equipment including a computer, calculator, and copier.\nMust be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing computer-based work.\nThe Value of a career with Fischer Homes \nFischer Homes is one of the largest and most reputable home builders in the Midwestern and Southeastern states.
