If you want to make an impact on a global scale, come make a difference at Fiserv.\nJob Title\nCredit Risk DirectorAbout your role\nWithin Fiserv, this role supports merchant acquiring risk activities across Credit & Risk (C&R) functions that help protect the business while enabling growth. The Director Credit Risk I leads a team responsible for oversight of credit risk practices across merchant onboarding, portfolio monitoring, exposure management, and related risk controls. This role partners across operations, underwriting, fraud, finance, and business leadership to drive sound risk decisions and support portfolio performance.\nWhat you’ll do\nLead credit risk activities across merchant acquiring functions within Credit & Risk (C&R).\nOversee credit underwriting, portfolio monitoring, exposure management, and risk control practices.\nEstablish, implement, and refine credit risk frameworks, policies, and procedures aligned with business objectives and risk appetite.\nReview portfolio trends, merchant performance, loss indicators, and concentration risks to support informed risk decisions.\nPartner with cross-functional teams to evaluate merchant risk, escalations, exceptions, and ongoing account performance.\nSupport governance, audit readiness, reporting, and control execution for credit risk operations.\nUse portfolio analytics and reporting insights to identify opportunities for process improvement and risk mitigation.\nGuide the team in executing risk assessments, approvals, reviews, and issue resolution across merchant acquiring portfolios.\nPerform other responsibilities as required; this list is not exhaustive and may be modified as necessary.\nExperience you’ll need\n18+ years of progressive leadership experience in credit risk, merchant acquiring, payments, or financial services, with demonstrated success across the following areas:\nEnterprise leadership of merchant credit risk, spanning underwriting, portfolio strategy, exposure management, reserves, and loss mitigation.\nDesign and execution of credit risk strategy, governance frameworks, policies, controls, and risk appetite aligned with commercial objectives.\nOversight of complex, large-scale portfolios, including high-risk merchant segments, concentration risk, material exposures, and emerging risk.\nExecutive decision-making informed by merchant financials, processing performance, chargeback trends, portfolio analytics, and forward-looking risk indicators.\nLeadership of regulatory examinations, audits, governance forums, control environments, and senior-level risk reporting.\nInfluence across business, finance, underwriting, fraud, operations, compliance, and technology to balance growth, customer outcomes, and risk.\nDevelopment of high-performing teams and leadership capability within a complex, matrixed organization.\nBachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, risk management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional or military experience.\nExperience that would be great to have\nLeadership experience within a global merchant acquiring, payments, or financial services organization.\nDeep knowledge of card network requirements, regulatory expectations, and leading industry risk practices.\nStrategic application of advanced analytics, risk models, automation, and decisioning capabilities to strengthen portfolio performance.\nOversight of high-risk industries, complex ownership structures, multinational merchants, or large strategic accounts.\nCredibility presenting material exposures, portfolio trends, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and governance committees.\nAdvanced degree or relevant professional certification in finance, risk, or a related discipline.\nThank you for considering employment with Fiserv.
