This role blends strategic system design, architectural governance, and deep hands-on support, ensuring all technical queries, incidents, and enhancements are handled effectively and with minimal business impact.\nYou will own the end-to-end technical landscape, guide design decisions, and lead complex problem resolution, while maintaining close day-to-day engagement with client stakeholders. This role is critical to ensuring platform resilience, regulatory compliance, and the continued success of a high-revenue, mission-critical client.\nWhat you’ll do:\nAct as the overall technical architect for the VisionPLUS card processing platform and its integrations\nServe as the primary senior technical contact for client, handling complex queries, escalations, and design discussions\nLead major incident management, including deep-dive diagnostics, cross-team coordination, and root-cause analysis. Provide hands-on support for critical production issues across online and batch processing\nDesign and govern distributed-to-mainframe integrations, including APIs and middleware. Review and approve technical changes, enhancements, and release plans to ensure system stability\nMentor Advisor- and Engineer-level team members, providing technical leadership and guidance\nWork closely with product owners, operations, infrastructure, and vendor teams to ensure seamless delivery\nEnsure systems meet 24×7 availability, performance, and security requirements\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on resilience, automation, and technical debt reduction\nExperience you’ll need to have:\nExtensive experience with VisionPLUS in a cards and payments processing environment\nDeep understanding of card lifecycle processing, including authorisation, clearing, settlement, billing, and disputes\nStrong hands-on expertise with mainframe technologies, including: CICS (online transaction processing). DB2 (schema design, performance analysis, and data troubleshooting)\nProven experience designing and supporting API-based and event-driven integrations with mainframe systems\nStrong background in production support, complex incident management, and root-cause analysis in 24×7 environments\nAbility to balance architectural ownership with hands-on execution when required\nFluent Italian and English (spoken and written)\nWillingness to participate in out-of-hours (OOH) support for critical incidents\nExperience that would be great to have:\nExperience acting as a solution or system architect for large-scale payment platforms\nStrong knowledge of VisionPLUS modules and vendor roadmaps\nFamiliarity with CICS tuning, DB2 optimisation, and batch/online workload balancing\nKnowledge of Swagger / OpenAPI standards and API governance\nExperience operating within ITIL-aligned incident, problem, and change management frameworks\nTrack record of supporting strategic, high-revenue clients with strict SLA commitments\nExperience driving resilience, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies\nSalary starting at €77,670 - negotiable depending on experience\nThank you for considering employment with Fiserv.
