This team’s primary objective is to provide Clover web engineers with exceptional development experience across our web platforms while supporting the large-scale expansion of our engineering teams. With hundreds of engineers building web experiences across 4 continents, Clover’s patterns and tooling for web development are critical to its ability to effectively deliver business value to our customers.\nAs a member of the Web Platform Team focusing on App Infrastructure, you will own the design, implementation, support and improvement of crucial foundational libraries, architectural patterns and self-service tools leveraged actively by web engineers across the company.\nResponsibilities of this Role:\nArchitecture & System Design: Design end-to-end web architectures, micro-frontends, API integrations, and server-side rendering (SSR) implementations optimized for high traffic, low latency, and high availability.\n\nTechnical Strategy & Roadmap: Partner with product management and business leaders to define long-term technical direction, evaluate emerging technologies, and guide multi-quarter roadmaps.\n\nQuality & Engineering Standards: Establish coding standards, testing frameworks, CI/CD practices, continuous performance monitoring, and web accessibility (WCAG) guidelines across the organization.\n\nMentorship & Culture: Provide technical leadership and sponsorship for senior, mid-level, and junior engineers. Lead design and code reviews to elevate team technical capabilities.\n\nHigh-Impact Execution: Hands-on development of core platforms, critical SDKs, complex web interfaces, and high-risk technical migrations.\n\nBasic Qualifications\n8+ years of professional software development experience, with a heavy focus on web platforms, web architecture, and full-stack runtime systems.\n\nBachelor's Degree (preferably Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent practical technical education.\n\nProven experience building and maintaining large-scale web applications, web infrastructure, or shared developer platform tools.\n\nHands-on background delivering web UIs as a feature developer alongside deep knowledge of browser execution models, JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems, and HTML/CSS standards.\n\nStrong proficiency with version control and automated CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins, or similar).\n\nExcellent verbal and written technical communication skills with a track record of cross-functional collaboration.\n\nPreferred Technical Qualifications:\nDeep knowledge of React / Webpack / modern tools\n\nExperience with Typescript\n\nWrites clean code, uses modern JS syntax.
