As a Software Development Engineering - Advisor II, you will play a key technical role in the SnapPay modernization program, designing and delivering cloud-native services and APIs that support critical payment capabilities.\nYou will work closely with product, architecture, engineering, QA, security, and infrastructure teams to translate business capabilities into well-defined specifications and production-ready solutions. You will leverage AI-assisted software development and specification-driven development practices to accelerate delivery while maintaining high standards for architecture, security, testing, and engineering quality.\nWhat you'll do:\nLead the design and development of cloud-native services, APIs, and payment capabilities\nDesign and implement scalable, highly available, resilient, and secure microservices using C#/.NET and Microsoft Azure.\nDevelop well-defined REST APIs and domain-aligned services using sound API design and Domain-Driven Design (DDD)principles.\nApply specification-driven development practices by translating business requirements into structured functional and technical specifications that guide implementation and testing.\nUse AI-assisted engineering tools throughout the SDLC to accelerate requirements analysis, solution design, code generation, refactoring, code review, test generation, documentation, and troubleshooting.\nReview, validate, and improve AI-generated code and technical artifacts to ensure they meet architecture, security, performance, maintainability, and engineering standards.\nBuild solutions for critical payment scenarios including transaction processing, idempotency, retries, error handling, asynchronous processing, and cross-domain event communication.\nDesign and implement data-access patterns using technologies such as Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Redis.\nDevelop event-driven integrations using technologies such as Azure Service Bus and Azure Event Hubs.\nImplement application security patterns including token-based authentication, authorization, secure service-to-service communication, and secrets management.\nDevelop automated unit, integration, API, and component tests, including effective use of AI-assisted test generation while maintaining appropriate engineering validation.\nExperience you'll need to have:\n6+ years of professional software development experience, including designing and delivering enterprise-grade applications.\n4+ years of hands-on C#/.NET development experience, preferably building APIs, microservices, or distributed backend services.\n3+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native application development.\nStrong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservice-based architectures.\nStrong experience with SQL and relational database design, transactional processing, query optimization, and data-access patterns.\nExperience with distributed application concepts including idempotency, retries, resiliency, caching, asynchronous processing, and eventual consistency.\nExperience with messaging or event-driven architectures using technologies such as Azure Service Bus, Event Hubs, Kafka, or equivalent.\nExperience with CI/CD, automated testing, source control, and modern DevOps practices.\nHands-on experience using AI-assisted software engineering tools as part of day-to-day software development, including code generation, refactoring, test generation, code analysis, documentation, and problem solving.\nExperience with specification-driven development, including translating requirements into structured specifications and using those specifications to guide software design, implementation, and validation.\nDemonstrated ability to critically review and validate AI-generated software rather than relying on generated output without appropriate engineering oversight.\nExperience implementing application security, authentication, and authorization in enterprise applications.\nExperience troubleshooting production applications using logs, metrics, distributed tracing, and observability tooling.\nExperience working within Agile engineering teams and collaborating across product, architecture, QA, security, and infrastructure functions.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, a related field (or foreign equivalent degree), or equivalent work experience.\nExperience that would be great to have:\nExperience building or modernizing payment processing, financial services, fintech, or high-volume transactional platforms.\nExperience with OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace, or comparable observability platforms.\nExperience modernizing legacy payment applications into cloud-native architectures.\nImportant information about this role:\nYou must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role.
