The Lifeguard will closely monitor Aqua Group Fitness classes and Family Swim to ensure the safety of all participants and enforce proper rules. The Lifeguard will respond to emergencies in the pool and on the pool deck and act as first responder if needed.\n Job Summary:\nMaintains constant surveillance of members and guests in the pool, whirlpool and pool deck; acts immediately and appropriately to ensure the safety of all participants in the event of emergency.\nProvides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.\nEnforces pool rules in an appropriate, fair and equitable manner and explain the rationale for the rule(s) when needed.\nPerforms various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility. This includes light cleaning and water chemistry testing.\nAssist in ensuring ongoing equipment and facility maintenance as well as Club cleanliness by communicating any deficiencies to the General Manager without delay.\nEnsure proper administration and completion of any necessary paperwork\nOur Ideal Candidate:\n6 months to 1 year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.\nBasic understanding of pool operation and water chemistry.\nHolder of current National Lifeguard Service’s Lifeguard Certificate, dated no more than 2 years from date of shift, this includes CPR-C.\nAbility to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations\nAbility to follow routine verbal and written instructions\nCustomer focused with interpersonal savvy\nDecision making skills\nMust be committed to contributing to a culture that celebrates diversity, equity and inclusion and embraces social and environmental responsibility\nCompensation:\nIt is expected that the selected candidate will start at a base wage of $20.00.
