As we continue to grow, we’re looking for talented people who want to make an impact, challenge the status quo and be part of an ambitious, collaborative team.\nPurpose of the Role:\nReporting to the VP Finance, this is an opportunity to step into a Financial Controller role where you can take ownership of core financial processes, improve how we work and help build the foundations needed to support our continued growth.\nWe are looking for someone with strong technical accounting skills and experience in a start-up or scale-up environment. You might be an experienced Finance Manager or a qualified accountant ready to move into your first Financial Controller position. You will have a good understanding of financial control and reporting, but just as importantly, you will be someone who enjoys getting hands-on, improving processes and finding better ways of doing things.\nThere is no established playbook to follow, so you will have the opportunity to make your mark, work closely with the VP Finance and develop your experience as the business grows across the UK and US.\nHybrid working: 3 days in the office (Mon, Tues, Wed)\nAs the Financial Controller, you will be:\nFinancial reporting: Manage the month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations across Adyen and Xero, and the preparation of accurate management accounts.\nBilling and credit control: Oversee billing and credit control, working closely with our FinOps Executive to ensure processes run smoothly.\nFinancial performance: Prepare budget-versus-actual (BVA) reporting, investigate variances and support the preparation of board reporting packs.\nAudit preparation: Help prepare the business for audits, ensuring financial records, supporting evidence and controls are in good shape.\nFinancial controls: Develop and improve financial processes and controls as the business grows and prepares for audited-company requirements.\nTax and compliance: Coordinate VAT, Corporation Tax and statutory compliance across our UK and US entities, working with external accountants and advisers where appropriate.\nSystems and automation: Identify opportunities to improve finance systems, integrations and processes, reducing manual work and improving accuracy.\nExternal relationships: Build effective working relationships with our external accountants and auditors.\nBudgeting and planning: Support the VP Finance with budgeting, forecasting and reporting to help the business make informed decisions.\nRequirements\nA qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), with a strong technical grounding who is ready to take the next step into a Financial Controller role.\nExperience working in a start-up or scale-up environment, where you have had to be practical, adaptable and comfortable with change.\nA good understanding of month-end processes, management accounts, reconciliations and financial controls.\nStrong Excel skills and experience using accounting systems.
