As a part of the databases team, you will help drive performance improvements, improve reliability/architecture and build new features for our NoSQL data pipeline services.\nThis is a full-time position based out of Fivetran's Toronto office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration.\nTechnologies You’ll Use\nJava\nMongoDB, Amazon DynamoDB, Azure Cosmos DB\nAWS, GCP, Azure\nBazel, Docker, Kubernetes, Github \nWhat You’ll Do\nWrite and deliver code reliably, along with automated tests (unit and integration)\nOptimize code to make it more performant\nBreak down project work into tasks with estimates\nGive and receive feedback through code reviews\nCollaborate daily with team members to develop new features and improvements while minimizing technical debt\nResolve customer issues in collaboration with customer support\nWork across the software development lifecycle: requirements, design, prototype, implementation, review, release, and monitoring\nUse AI coding agents to automatically generate code for use cases such as incident resolution, feature development, testing, and investigations \nSkills We’re Looking For\nExpertise in Java development\nExperience developing reliable software with high-volume data management under strict SLAs\nExperience working with popular cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)\nExperience using AI coding agents for development\nKnowledge of popular NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, Amazon DynamoDB)\nKnowledge of and appreciation for clean code practices\nAbility to troubleshoot problematic code and identify root cause(s) \nOptional Bonus Skills\nExperience working with MongoDB and/or Amazon DynamoDB change data capture\nExperience developing data integration tools (ETL or ELT)\nExperience identifying and optimizing performance bottlenecks in distributed systems\nThis role represents new headcount added to the team to support continued growth and expansion of capabilities.\n#LI-HYBRID #LI-VA1\nThe compensation range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire compensation for the target position and level, and may include sales incentives or target bonuses depending on the role.
