Key responsibilities include leading end-of-period closes, ensuring process efficiency and a strong control environment, and serving as a key accounting resource for cross-functional business partners.Key Accountabilities\nSupport the accurate and timely execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including preparation or review of journal entries, reconciliations, as well as other financial and regulatory reporting deliverables, ensuring compliance with US GAAP Accounting Standards and internal accounting policies, while adhering to internal and external reporting timelines\n\nAssist with trial balance reviews, preparing variance analyses and commentary\n\nCollaborate with Financial Reporting and the business to ensure proper accounting for new business transactions\n\nLeverage technology (incl. Google Gemini), embrace new ways of working, and identify opportunities for process improvement, operational efficiencies, and automation of accounting workflows\n\nAct as the functional owner for accounting processes within Workday, implementing customization decisions and new feature releases\n\nLead or contribute to strategic cross-functional business initiatives and special projects (e.g. Workday Design Review)\n\nReview financial ratio calculations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements\n\nReview GST/HST returns\n\nMentor and develop direct report(s), setting challenging annual goals that align with the department’s objectives and their personal development plan, and providing timely feedback\n\nProvide training to new and existing staff as needed\n\nRequired Experience, Skills, and Behaviors:\nUniversity undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting\n\nCPA designation (or equivalent)\n\n5+ years of relevant experience in accounting\n\nStrong knowledge of US GAAP Accounting Standards, including ability to apply accounting principles to new scenarios/transactions.\n\nExperience with large-scale general ledger or accounting systems such as Workday, Oracle, or SAP\n\nAdept at learning and integrating new technologies, including AI tools, to enhance efficiency and problem-solving.\n\nExperience implementing change\n\nStrong written and verbal communication\n\nNice to Have Experience:\nGoogle Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides)\n\n“Big 4” firm alumni\n\nWorking knowledge of US GAAP-to-IFRS differences\n\nPrevious people management experience\n\nThis role is hybrid (3 days in the office/week) - based in New York City, NY.\nSalary Range: $130,000K/year - $145,000K/year USD\nPlease note that the Salary Range included is a guideline only.
