Provide first response to trouble calls; investigate, correct and clear trouble, and provide assistance to construction and repair crews, as required. All items apply to overhead and underground, as applicable. Employee may perform miscellaneous, related, and incidental work in addition to that specifically outlined below. The Line Servicer builds upon the skills, abilities and knowledge learned as a Line Mechanic A, Lineman A (or equivalent).\nJob Description\nWhat you'll do:\n Analyze and take corrective action with respect to trouble calls on all types of transmission and distribution circuits and equipment. \nInvestigate trouble calls; patrol and inspect lines; locate, clear and repair faults on lines and equipment. Refuse line and transformer cutouts; repair and adjust street light control equipment; install and remove transformers, meters and services. \nCoordinate and/or conduct complex circuit switching and restoration of service resulting from trouble calls. \nWork with hot line equipment on energized circuits for emergency repairs or routine maintenance of facilities. \nIndependently interface with emergency forces, such as fire and police departments, to accomplish safe trouble call restoration. \nCommunicate effectively with customers and formulate a plan designed to serve their needs as well as the Company’s in resolving trouble calls. Inform customer if trouble is located in customer’s wiring or equipment; investigate radio and TV interference. \nInstall, remove, operate and maintain residential, commercial and industrial facilities, both overhead and underground. \nDisconnect and connect meters; read in and read out meters.\nOperate line switches; operate switches and replace fuses in stations; request, make and accept line and station clearances.\nPerform similar or less skilled work. \nDirect the work of employees assigned to assist. \nWhat we're looking for:\nEducation:\nHigh school diploma or GED\nExperience:\nMinimum of 2 years of work experience as Line Mechanic A, Lineman A or the equivalent experience as determined by the Company or or 480 tracked and verifiable hours stepped up to a Line Servicer role.\nLicenses/Certifications:\nValid Class A CDL is required\nOTHER REQUIREMENTS:\nShall have performed the duties of and have all the qualifications of Lineman A or the equivalent and shall qualify through demonstration, examination and/or performance appraisal as determined by the Company. \nA physical abilities assessment is also required for this position.\nThis role requires regular overtime and on-call response. Travel, including out of town travel, may also be required. \nSuccessful candidate must live within a 45-minute safe driving distance of the Benton Harbor Service Center, located at 2425 Meadowbrook Rd.
