You will work closely with IT stake holders, vendors and other teams to deliver high quality database services.\nKey Areas of Responsibilities\n\nOffer DBA PostgreSQL / MYSQL support for application development team.\nEnsure integrity, availability, security and performance of POSTGRESQL / MYSQLdatabase systems by providing technical support and maintenance.\nMonitor database uptime, performance and recommend improvements for operational efficiency.\nAssist in capacity planning, space management and data maintenance activities for database system.\nPerform database enhancement and modification as per the requirements.\nPerform database recovery and backup tasks on daily and weekly basis.\nDevelop and maintain patches for database environments.\nIdentify and recommend database techniques to support business needs.\nLead efforts to develop and improve procedures for automated monitoring and proactive intervention, reducing any need downtime.\nParticipate in the creation of development, staging, and production database instances, and the migration from one environment to another.\nResponsible for pro-active remediation of database operational problems.\nManages logins and user accounts, including assigning database object permissions and privileges.\nParticipate in a 24×7 support rotation (on-call)\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree/above in Computer Science, MIS or related degree \n5-7 years of relevant experience including database administration, database programming, preferably in Financial Services or other regulated industry \n3 years’ experience as a hands on PostgreSQL / MYSQL database administrator.\nStrong Knowledge on Database Installation, Upgrades and Migration. \nStrong Knowledge on applying POSTGRESQL / MYSQL Patches and Fixes \nExperience in POSTGRESQL / MYSQL database architecture, logical and physical design, automation, documentation, installs, shell scripting, PL/ SQL programming, catalog navigation, query tuning, system tuning, resource contention analysis, backup and recovery, standby, replication, etc. \nStrong knowledge of Linux and shell scripting (e.g., Bash, Perl)\nStrong understanding of command line and database server administration. \nStrong analytical, verbal and written communication skills. \nCapacity planning for all aspects of a database system (storage, compute, memory, etc.) \nAbility to work non-standard shift including nights and/or weekend on-call responsibilities \nGood communication skills in English, Chinese efficiency will be a plus\nGood team player.
