Road\nBromley\nBR1 1AS\nPay\nPAYE Rate: £23.95 per hour\nJob Overview\nBromley Council is seeking an experienced Funding and Operations Officer to support the assessment and processing of Discretionary Housing Payments.\nThe successful candidate must have direct experience assessing DHP applications and should be confident reviewing financial circumstances, housing costs and supporting information to make accurate and defensible decisions.\nExperience using the Academy system to process Housing Benefit or Discretionary Housing Payments is strongly required for this role.\nImportant - Please Read Carefully\nThis role requires direct experience assessing Discretionary Housing Payments.\nYou must also have experience using Academy for Housing Benefit or DHP processing.\nCandidates without DHP assessment experience and Academy system knowledge are unlikely to be considered.\nKey Responsibilities\nAssess applications for Discretionary Housing Payments\n\nProcess Housing Benefit and DHP cases using the Academy system\n\nReview financial hardship, housing costs and supporting evidence\n\nMaintain accurate records and case documentation\n\nProvide clear advice and guidance to applicants regarding housing support\n\nEnsure decisions are made in line with policies, procedures and relevant guidance\n\nWork accurately to deadlines and manage a caseload effectively\n\nLiaise with internal teams and applicants where required\n\nEssential Experience & Skills\nExperience assessing Discretionary Housing Payments\n\nExperience using Academy for Housing Benefit or DHP processing\n\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy\n\nExcellent communication and customer service skills\n\nAbility to assess financial and housing circumstances\n\nGood case recording and documentation skills\n\nAbility to work in line with policies and procedures\n\nAble to work onsite in Bromley initially\n\nDesirable\nPrevious experience processing Housing Benefit\n\nAbility to work
