Duties will include grass cutting using hand-held and ride-on equipment, maintaining shrub beds and annual bedding, sports facility maintenance, landscaping, arboricultural work, litter picking, emptying litter bins and responding to fly-tipping service requests.\nThe successful candidate must hold a current clean UK full driving licence and have experience in grounds maintenance or a similar outdoor manual environment.\nImportant - Please Read Carefully\nThis is a hands-on outdoor grounds maintenance role.\nYou must hold a current clean UK full driving licence and have experience in grounds maintenance activities or a similar environment.\nYou must be comfortable working outdoors, using grounds maintenance equipment, following health and safety procedures, working without close supervision and being flexible to support work outside core hours, including bank holidays and emergencies when required.\nCandidates without a clean UK driving licence and relevant grounds maintenance experience are unlikely to be considered.\nKey Responsibilities\nCarry out grounds maintenance across public open spaces, verges, schools and contracted sites\nUndertake grass cutting using hand-held and ride-on equipment\nMaintain shrub beds, planting areas and annual bedding\nMark and maintain sports facilities\nUndertake landscaping of open spaces\nCarry out arboricultural work where trained\nEmpty litter bins and carry out litter picking\nRespond to fly-tipping service requests and follow evidence collation processes\nSupport street services duties when required\nKeep vehicles clean and complete daily safety inspections\nUse plant and machinery safely in line with manufacturer instructions\nFollow health and safety legislation, policies and codes of practice\nWork effectively as part of a team\nWork independently without close supervision when required\nMaintain polite and positive interactions with the public\nUndertake training required to carry out duties safely and effectively\nSupport emergency responses such as flooding, snow clearance or storm-related works when instructed\nEssential Experience & Skills\nCurrent clean UK full driving licence\nExperience in grounds maintenance activities or a similar outdoor manual environment\nAbility to follow council policies and procedures\nCommitment to high-quality work\nPride in maintaining public spaces\nAbility to self-motivate\nAbility to work without close supervision\nWillingness to undertake relevant training\nFlexibility to work outside core hours when required\nAbility to support safely\nDesirable\nAbility to tow up to 3.5 tonnes\nExperience working as part of a team\nWelsh language skills\nExperience using ride-on mowers\nExperience using strimmers, blowers, hedge cutters or similar grounds equipment\nPrevious local authority grounds maintenance or cleansing experience\nExperience with litter picking, fly-tipping response or street services duties\nAdditional
