The job description confirms the postholder will lead building safety policies, management plans, safety case reports, Mandatory Occurrence Reporting and the golden thread of building safety information.\nImportant - Please Read Carefully\nThis role requires substantial senior-level building safety experience, ideally within social housing, local authority housing, building surveying, fire safety, maintenance or construction.\nYou must have strong technical knowledge of fire and building safety in residential environments, including the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, Building Regulations and HRB requirements.\nCandidates without senior building safety, HRB, fire safety, compliance or residential building safety experience are unlikely to be considered.\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn, deliver and review building safety policies, procedures, management plans and processes\n\nLead the Building Safety Case programme\n\nOversee registration of in-scope buildings with the Building Safety Regulator\n\nQuality assure Building Safety Case Reports and associated fire and structural risk assessments\n\nEnsure compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021 and related legislation\n\nAct as the subject matter expert for building safety matters\n\nOwn and deliver Mandatory Occurrence Reporting processes\n\nDrive delivery of the golden thread of building safety information across housing assets\n\nDeliver the building safety competency framework in line with PAS 8672 standards\n\nLine manage a multidisciplinary team including Building Safety Managers, Structural Engineer, Resident Engagement Officer and Administrator\n\nReport to the Head of Compliance & Building Safety on compliance, remediation progress, KPIs and risks\n\nChair and host Building Safety Committee meetings\n\nHorizon scan for legislative and regulatory changes\n\nOversee building safety actions across reactive and planned works programmes\n\nSupport procurement of consultants and remediation contractors\n\nContribute to client briefs for fire and safety improvement works\n\nSupport Gateway submissions and works on in-scope buildings\n\nReview specifications and technical drawings for compliance with Building Regulations and British Standards\n\nProvide expert advice to internal departments on fire and building safety matters\n\nSupport Housing teams with PEEP development\n\nEnsure resident engagement strategies and building safety information packs are delivered across HRBs\n\nLiaise on Section 20 consultations, planning, building control and listed building consent processes where required\n\nEssential Experience & Skills\nSubstantial senior-level experience in building safety management, surveying, maintenance or construction\n\nStrong experience within social housing, local authority housing or housing provider environments\n\nIn-depth technical expertise in fire and building safety in residential buildings\n\nStrong knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022\n\nStrong knowledge of Fire Safety legislation, Building Regulations and the Landlord & Tenant Act\n\nExperience leading or quality assuring Building Safety Case Reports\n\nExperience with High-Risk Buildings (HRBs)\n\nExperience managing complex, multidisciplinary programmes from inception to completion\n\nLeadership experience and ability to influence senior stakeholders\n\nExperience liaising with residents, leaseholders, regulators and elected members\n\nExperience using compliance or fire risk management software\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\n\nStrong stakeholder management and decision-making skills\n\nAbility to challenge proposals and evidence value for money\n\nFinancial forecasting and programme oversight skills\n\nPolitical awareness and experience operating in a democratic environment\n\nEssential Qualifications\nNEBOSH Fire Safety Management Certificate or equivalent Level 3 fire safety qualification\n\nDegree in Building Surveying, Fire Engineering or a related discipline\n\nAffiliation to IFSM or IFE\n\nDemonstrable competence in reviewing building safety assessments under a recognised risk register scheme\n\nDesirable\nMembership of RICS, CIOB, CABE or RIBA\n\nExperience working with or for a Building Consultancy\n\nExperience in Construction Management, Contract Administration or Project Management within local government\n\nReporting To\nHead of Compliance and Building Safety\nAdditional Information\nInterviews will be held on
