This position has a significant amount of contact with people, requiring public and human relations skills, flexibility of nature and effective oral and written communication skills. This position requires the use of independent judgment to deal with a variety of unanticipated problems and concerns.\nThe Janitorial Supervisor works under the direction of the Operations Manager. Must have experience overseeing multiple buildings\"\nJob Description\nEssential Functions\nSupervise employees and help delegate operations schedule to ensure proper work area coverage.\n\nEvaluates performance of personnel and inspects assigned areas to ensure proper work performance. This requires hands-on support and ability to perform work when necessary. This may include, but is not limited to dust mopping, sweeping, stripping/refinishing, carpet scrubbing, servicing restrooms, window washing, etc.\n\nFind and define problems, resolve issues, and use these in making appropriate recommendations to management staff, staff, and/or customer contact to exercise continuous quality improvement and to exceed customer expectations.\n\nEnsure employees comply with company standards related to clocking in and out at the start, lunch periods and end of shift.\n\nManage all employee clocking activity, to include daily evaluation of employee clocking performance, correction of poor clocking habits including disciplinary action up to and including suspension of employees.\n\nMonitor Kronos reports to ensure employee compliance to clocking standards and to manage employee time to prevent overtime when possible.\n\nReport any issues, concerns or discrepancies to Operations Manager/Operations Coordinator.\n\nAddresses customer concerns and inquiries and reports any new or changing job/work orders.\n\nPerforms tracks and evaluates purchasing activities, supply and equipment usage and repairs.\n\nEnsures appropriate chemical labeling, dilution, and storage requirements are conducted in accordance with company, customer and OSHA standards.\n\nOn the job training for staff/employees to job-specific tasks.\n\nParticipates in company and customer training ensuring effective communication and distribution of information to managers, supervisors, customers and employees.\n\nCarries out management responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies, customer’s rules and regulations and applicable laws when needed.\n\nAssists with administrative tasks involving custodial personnel and facilities as directed by the Operations Manager.\n\nAssists as needed with the scheduling of custodial personnel.\n\nCoordinates, assigns and inspects the work of assigned custodial staff, including regular review and revisions of custodial task assignment sheets. Provides guidance and training as needed. Submits end of shift reports to the Operations Manager.\n\nCoordinates regular and substitute custodial staff coverage.\n\nDevelops and implements custodial cleaning procedures, routines and training as necessary. Assesses efficiency of cleaning procedures and institutes new or revised procedures to increase efficiency, effectiveness, safety, and best customer service practices.\n\nAppropriately maintains and secures confidential records and inquiries.\n\nPerforms special projects as assigned by the Operations Manager.\n\nComplies with applicable Flagship, state, local and federal laws, rules and regulations.\n\nCoordinates and arranges for equipment repairs as necessary for all powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.\n\nResolves guest complaints while ensuring management are kept informed while also attending staff meetings to discuss customer complaints.\n\nScreens job applicants, hires new employees, and recommends promotions, transfers, and dismissals in collaboration with the GM.\n\nPerforms routine safety checks and preventative maintenance of this equipment.\n\nComplete weekly and monthly safety training for all employees, ensure employees understand all training and have signed off on the completion of the training.\n\nEnsure all employees have the appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and that employees are utilizing the correct PPE in the performance of duties.\n\nSupervises inventory of custodial supply products and notifies Operations Manager of any needed supplies.\n\nPerforms the duties of the custodians in their absence.\n\nProfessionally represents Flagship and Flagship clients in interactions with client, facility guests, passengers and employees.\n\nResponds to emergency calls for fire, security and vandalism at all facilities.\n\nModels and enforces the established Flagship policies, regulations and protocols.\n\nAttends work regularly.\n\nOccasionally perform work beyond a standard 40-hour work week when workload requires.\n\nOther duties may be assigned as needed.\n\nKnowledge and Skills\nKnowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in maintenance work\n\nMust have excellent internal and external customer service skills\n\nProfessional appearance and demeanor\n\nAbility to lead others and motivate people\n\nAbility to work individually and as part of a team; an intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills\n\nMicrosoft Office skills, i.e. Excel, Word plus Gmail, Google docs, Google calendar\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\n\nFloor and carpet care experience\n\nMust be punctual.\n\nEducation and Work Experience\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.\n\n4+ years of experience in janitorial supervisory experience; multi-building experience\n\nWork Environment\nSmall-to-large, fast past office environment. Safety glasses required while performing certain tasks. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments and shop environments.
