At Tilde, you will work alongside scientists and engineers from diverse disciplines to help define how a new generation of biological sensing systems extract meaning from the physical world.\nTilde is backed by Flagship Pioneering, which brings the long-term vision and resources needed to build platforms that don't fit neatly into existing categories.\nPosition Summary\nWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in printed circuit board (PCB) design and development to join our multidisciplinary engineering team. This individual will play a critical role in the design, layout, integration, and validation of complex PCBs that support our next-generation proteomics platform.\nThe ideal candidate will have strong experience in mixed-signal and high-speed PCB design, signal integrity, power integrity, and system-level integration. This role requires close collaboration with firmware, mechanical, bioengineering, and systems teams to deliver robust, manufacturable, and high-performance hardware solutions from concept through production.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the design and development of complex, multilayer PCBs for advanced instrumentation systems.\nArchitect mixed-signal, high-speed, and low-noise circuit designs including analog front ends, power management, data acquisition, and embedded processing systems.\nCollaborate with SW and HW engineers as well as external vendors to ensure seamless hardware-software integration and instrument development.\nDevelop and maintain comprehensive documentation including schematics, layout files, validation reports, and specifications.\nDrive design reviews, design for manufacturability (DFM), and design for testability (DFT) best practices.\nContribute to intellectual property generation and technical strategy discussions.\nBasic Qualifications\nB.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.\nMinimum of 7+ years of industry experience in PCB design and hardware development.\nDemonstrated expertise in multilayer PCB design for mixed-signal or high-speed systems.\nExperience with high-speed interfaces (e.g., USB, Ethernet, PCIe, DDR, SPI, I2C).\nDeep understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, grounding strategies, and EMI/EMC mitigation.\nHands-on experience with board bring-up, debugging, and lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers).\nExperience taking products from prototype through manufacturing.\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nNice-to-Haves\nExperience designing electronics for scientific instrumentation, medical devices, or life sciences platforms.\nFamiliarity with FPGA-based systems and embedded processors.\nExperience with high-density interconnect (HDI) design and fine-pitch components.\nKnowledge of regulatory compliance standards (e.g., CE, FCC, IEC).\nExperience working in early-stage or startup environments.\nAbout Flagship Pioneering\nFlagship Pioneering is a bio-platform innovation company that invents and builds platform companies, each with the potential for multiple products that transform human health or sustainability.
