This role leads an Agile team of Software and Quality Assurance Engineers and is accountable for meeting sprint and release commitments across scope, quality, schedule, and budget.\nThe ideal candidate combines strong software architecture and development expertise with a collaborative leadership style. You will partner closely with Product Architects, Product Owners, UX, DevOps, Hosting, Delivery, and customer-facing teams to build reliable, high-quality solutions.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead and mentor an Agile product team of 4-8 Software and Quality Assurance Engineers.\nProvide technical leadership for product planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement.\nPartner with Product Architects and UX to define and maintain the overall solution architecture.\nCollaborate with the Product Owner to prioritize the product backlog and support sprint and release planning.\nLead technical design discussions, design reviews, and code reviews.\nEstablish and maintain sound design patterns, error handling, implementation architecture, subsystem design, automated testing practices, coding standards, and system performance.\nCreate technical designs and estimates for user stories in collaboration with the product team.\nEnsure user story implementations meet acceptance criteria, quality standards, and agreed-upon estimates.\nOwn the software development lifecycle for the product, including build processes, test automation, deployment, and release readiness.\nProvide technical direction to DevOps and Hosting teams on deployment architecture and operational needs.\nParticipate in technical discussions with customers alongside delivery and maintenance teams.\nIdentify and recommend process improvements and operational enhancements.\nUnderstand and follow all applicable requirements of the Quality Management System, Information Security Management System, and Privacy Information Management System.\nSkills, Knowledge & Expertise\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; equivalent professional software engineering experience will be considered.\nAt least three years of experience in a technical lead, team lead, or comparable software engineering leadership role.\nStrong hands-on experience across the software development lifecycle.\nDemonstrated experience with software architecture, design, development, code review, and technical decision-making.\nExperience leading, mentoring, and supporting software engineers in an Agile environment.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.\nA self-directed, resourceful approach with strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous learning.\nPreferred Experience\nExperience with several of the following technologies is preferred:Object-oriented programming languages such as Java with Spring Boot, C++, Objective-C, TypeScript, or similar languages\nJavaScript, Angular, Angular Material, CSS, Less, or SCSS\nXML, XSLT, DITA, SGML, and XQuery\nContent-authoring tools such as Arbortext, XMetaL, or Oxygen\nRelational databases, including PostgreSQL and Oracle\nRelational database design\nTomcat or other application server technologies\nActiviti or similar workflow platforms\nDocker and Kubernetes\nAmazon Web Services\nVMware images hosted locally and remotely on ESX servers\nDocument content management systems, XML applications, print and online publishing, and publication authoring\n\nExperience with airline publishing specifications, including S1000D and ATA iSpec 2200, is a strong plus.\nAdditional Skills:\nProficiency with personal productivity and software development tools.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively across teams.\nDemonstrated initiative, creativity, and drive for excellence.\n*Boulder is
