As our operations across North America grow, we're looking for someone to make sure every deployment, facility and field program is run the right way, with everyone going home safe.\nAs HSE Lead, Americas, you'll lead the practical implementation and continuous improvement of Fleet's Health, Safety and Environment approach across our North American operations. You'll work closely with operational leaders, field teams, contractors and our global HSE function to make sure field deployments, facilities and operational activities run safely, consistently and in line with applicable federal, state and local requirements.\nThis is a hands-on operational role. You'll spend much of your time with the teams closest to the work: identifying and controlling risk, strengthening field safety practices, supporting incident management and building HSE capability across the region. You'll bring Fleet's global HSE Management System to life in the Americas, making sure regional practices stay connected to our broader standards.\nKey Responsibilities\n\n 1. Operational & Field Safety\nPartner with Americas operational leaders and field teams to identify, assess and manage HSE risks across field deployments, warehousing, facilities and other operational activities.\nProvide practical HSE advice during planning, mobilisation and execution of field programs.\nConduct field and workplace inspections, risk assessments and safety observations.\nEnsure appropriate controls, Safe Work Procedures/JHAs and safety documentation are in place for higher-risk activities.\nSupport operational leaders to build HSE accountability into day-to-day decision-making.\n2. US Regulatory ComplianceMaintain oversight of relevant federal, state and local occupational safety and environmental requirements applicable to Fleet's US operations.\nEnsure Fleet's operations meet applicable OSHA and other regulatory requirements.\nMonitor regulatory developments and translate changes into practical actions for operational teams.\nMaintain appropriate HSE records and support regulatory reporting where required.\nWork with Legal and global HSE where complex regulatory or compliance matters arise.\n3. Global HSE System ImplementationImplement Fleet's global HSE Management System across the Americas, ensuring regional requirements are appropriately incorporated.\nSupport alignment with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 principles and Fleet's global standards.\nIdentify opportunities to improve HSE systems based on operational experience within the region.\nParticipate in internal and external HSE audits and ensure agreed corrective actions are implemented.\n4. Incident Management & InvestigationLead or support investigations into incidents, near misses and significant safety events across the Americas.\nApply recognised investigation methodologies and ensure root causes and contributing factors are appropriately identified.\nPartner with operational leaders to develop and close corrective and preventative actions.\nEscalate significant incidents appropriately and support regulatory/client reporting where required.\nAnalyse incident and near-miss trends to identify systemic risks and improvement opportunities.\n5. Contractor & Client HSEAssess and monitor HSE capability and compliance of contractors supporting Fleet's North American operations.\nSupport contractor onboarding, pre-mobilisation and ongoing safety management.\nPartner with Commercial and Operations teams to respond to client HSE requirements, tenders, audits and prequalification processes.\nParticipate in client HSE discussions and pre-mobilisation meetings where required.\nEnsure HSE responsibilities between Fleet, clients and contractors are clearly understood before work commences.\n6. HSE Capability & CultureCoach operational leaders and field teams in practical risk management and safe work practices.\nDeliver or coordinate inductions, toolbox talks and relevant HSE training.\nMaintain oversight of required licences, competencies and safety training within the region.\nBuild confidence in identifying, raising and resolving safety issues.\nPromote a culture where people take responsibility for their own safety and the safety of those around them.\n7. Emergency PreparednessEnsure appropriate emergency response arrangements exist across US operational locations and field activities.\nSupport development and testing of emergency response plans.\nCoordinate with operational leaders on emergency preparedness for remote or higher-risk deployments.\nExperience & QualificationsMust Have\n5+ years' HSE experience in an operational environment such as mining, mineral exploration, geophysics or similar industries.\nStrong working knowledge of US occupational health and safety requirements, including OSHA.\nDemonstrated experience supporting field-based or geographically dispersed operations.\nStrong capability in operational risk assessment, incident investigation and corrective action management.\nExperience managing contractor HSE requirements.\nStrong HSE documentation and technical writing capability.\nAbility to influence operational leaders and frontline teams without relying on positional authority.\nWillingness and ability to travel regularly to operational and field locations.\nHighly RegardedRelevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Risk or a related discipline.\nProfessional HSE certification such as CSP, ASP or equivalent.\nExperience with ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001.\nRecognised incident investigation qualification or methodology experience.\nMining, mineral exploration, seismic acquisition or remote field operations experience.\nExperience working across both US and Canadian regulatory environments.\nAbout Fleet Space\n\nFleet Space Technologies' vision from the beginning was to build technologies to help humanity explore and connect the Earth, Moon, and Mars.\nThis led us to develop and launch one of Australia's largest constellation of satellites, create our satellite-enabled mineral exploration technology (ExoSphere), and send Australia's first seismic technology (SPIDER) to the Moon in 2026.
