Our platform lets users explore survey results, interpret complex datasets, upload project data, access deliverables and interact with predictive models.\nWe are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer who enjoys working across the stack and turning ideas, data and models into useful products quickly. You will work on a diverse range of projects: dashboards, APIs, data processing, 2D and 3D visualisation, backend services, frontend applications and machine learning integration.\nThis role suits someone comfortable moving between front and back end, learning quickly, and using modern AI assisted development tools to accelerate implementation without losing engineering judgement.\nWhat you'll do\n\nDesign and build new products and features across Fleet's customer and internal software platform.\nDevelop backend services, APIs, data processing workflows and frontend applications.\nBuild interactive dashboards and tools for exploring complex scientific and operational data.\nDevelop rich 2D and 3D visualisations for geophysical, geological, geospatial and machine learning datasets.\nIntegrate machine learning models and their outputs into production applications and user workflows.\nBring previously independent tools and workflows together into a cohesive platform.\nBuild the interfaces customers use to upload data, manage projects and access their results.\nWork with large scientific and geospatial datasets, and find effective ways to process, transfer and visualise them.\nMaintain, improve and simplify existing systems, and look for ways to lift performance, usability and development velocity.\nWork closely with data scientists, machine learning engineers and geoscientists to turn experimental workflows into reliable software.\nPrototype new ideas quickly and work out the right path from prototype to production.\nContribute to technical design decisions around application structure, APIs and integration with shared platform services.\nWhat we are looking for\nAround 4+ years in software engineering, working across the stack rather than in one narrow specialisation.\nTech stack: Python, Go, TypeScript/JavaScript, SQL, AWS, Docker, GitLab and CI/CD, with 2D and 3D visualisation libraries such as Three.js, WebGL, deck.gl or Plotly.\nBackend and API experience from first principles: you can design a service and its data model, then integrate it cleanly with what already exists.\nStrong experience with SQL databases and structured data, and with data processing, data engineering or data science workflows.\nExperience building web applications, dashboards or interactive data tools.\nAbility to understand existing systems quickly and work effectively across unfamiliar parts of a stack.\nPragmatic technical judgement, balancing development speed, complexity, maintainability and user value.\nStrong use of AI assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex or GitHub Copilot, with the ability to review, test and improve what they produce rather than accepting it as is.\nComfort using AI aggressively for prototyping and well contained features, while recognising when architecture, data or security decisions need deeper engineering thought.\nExperience with Jira or similar project and issue tracking tools.\nExperience integrating machine learning models or data science workflows into production software.\nKnowledge or experience in geology, geospatial data, mining or scientific computing.\nHow we work\nWe want engineers who see AI assisted development as an important part of modern software engineering. We encourage rapid experimentation and AI assisted implementation, particularly for interfaces, prototypes and well contained features. At the same time, we expect engineers to understand the systems they build and take ownership of architecture, data models, APIs, testing, security and maintainability.\nWe value simplicity over unnecessary complexity, and we expect engineers to ask not only how we build something, but what is the simplest thing we can build that solves the problem well. The goal is to use modern tools to move quickly while continuing to build software we understand, trust and can maintain.\nAbout Fleet Space\n\nFleet Space Technologies’ vision from the beginning was to build technologies to help humanity explore and connect the Earth, Moon, and Mars.\nThis led us to develop and launch one of Australia’s largest constellation of satellites, create our satellite-enabled mineral exploration technology (ExoSphere), and send Australia’s first seismic technology (SPIDER) to the Moon in 2026. ExoSphere, our end-to-end mineral exploration solution powered by space and AI, aims to accelerate critical mineral discovery needed for the clean energy technologies foundational to humanity’s future.\nAs part of Fleet’s founding vision, we also apply our technology to innovative solutions for defense and space exploration, including an upcoming mission to the Moon. Headquartered in Adelaide, South Australia, Fleet has a growing team in the USA, Canada, and beyond.\nCompany Culture\n\nAs a company, we are revolutionising the exploration of new worlds with advanced space technology to build a more prosperous future for humanity.\nAs a culture, we are ambitious, innovative, and collaborative and we put our customers first in everything that we do.\nOur company values guide us to our North Star of ambitious, collaborative success: AD ASTRA (\"To the Stars!\")\nAdd Value: Obsessively add value for our customers\nDrive Excellence: Benchmark against the best\nAgile Action: Take Action. Independent, fast, frugal action\nSeek Truth: Be curious. Explore\nTake Responsibility: Make decisions and own them\nRadical Ideas: We are unique. We do things differently\nAlways Deliver: We always find a way to get it done on time\n Our Benefits Include\nWe have an extremely flexible work culture, with a mix of onsite, hybrid and remote workers who take time for school runs, exercise and appointments. It's about getting the work done, not time at desk.\nEquity (ESOP) grants.\n20 days of annual leave + 10 extra Wellness days per year.\nLearning budgets.\nAccess to confidential Psychologist appointments via our Employee Assistance Program.\nPlenty of opportunity to be part of an amazing STEM program to create the next generation of explorers.\nFleet is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with Fleet is governed on the basis of merit, competence and qualifications and will not be influenced in any manner by race, colour, religion, gender, national origin/ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, mental or physical disability or any other legally protected status.","description_format":"text","description_chars":6872,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":4,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Annual leave","Equity","Flexible schedule","Hybrid work"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"Australia","iso":"AU","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Space & Aerospace"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-14T05:44:16Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":19,"band":"cold","label":"Long shot","p_open":1,"p_active":0.533,"p_room":0.35,"age_days":42,"expected_fill_days":20,"reasons":["conf:2","win:tail"],"computed_at":"2026-10-16T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/fleet-space-technologies-software-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/fleet-space-technologies-software-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-16T12:26:13Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":11631,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-17T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":49904},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=49904"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Ffleet-space-technologies-software-engineer"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Ffleet-space-technologies-software-engineer"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Ffleet-space-technologies-software-engineer"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/fleet-space-technologies-software-engineer\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Ffleet-space-technologies-software-engineer"}]}
