This role provides day-to-day direction to assembly workers, ensures safety procedures are followed, trains new employees, assigns daily work, and assists with performance reviews and disciplinary actions.\nKey Responsibilities:\n1. Safety and Compliance\nEnsure all team members follow company safety rules, procedures, and PPE requirements at all times.\nVerify employees are properly trained and authorized before performing assigned work or operating equipment.\nConduct daily safety checks of work areas, tools, and equipment; report hazards and help correct them.\nStop work and take immediate action if unsafe conditions or behaviors are observed.\nParticipate in safety meetings and support continuous improvement of safety practices.\n\n2. Daily Leadership and Work Coordination\nThe Assistant Supervisor provides direct day-to-day operational leadership to assigned employees but does not independently hire, terminate, suspend, or issue formal disciplinary action unless specifically authorized by the Production Manager.\nAssign daily tasks and workstations to assembly team members based on skills, experience, and production needs.\nCommunicate production goals, priorities, and schedule changes at the start of each shift.\nMonitor workflow and reassign resources as needed to avoid bottlenecks and meet deadlines.\nCoordinate with supervisors, maintenance, and other departments to support smooth operations.\n3. Training and Employee Development\nTrain new hires and cross-train existing employees on assembly processes, work instructions, and safety procedures.\nDemonstrate proper use of tools, equipment, and materials; verify understanding and competency.\nMaintain up-to-date training records and provide feedback to the Supervisor on employee progress.\nServe as a first point of contact for questions about procedures or quality standards.\n4. Quality and Documentation\nEnsure team members follow work instructions, drawings, and quality standards.\nPerform spot checks and visual inspections of assembled products; report and help resolve quality issues.\nSupport continuous improvement activities to increase efficiency and reduce waste or rework.\nAssist in tracking production data (counts, scrap, downtime) and reporting results to management.\n5. Leadership, Performance, and Employee Relations\nLead by example with a strong focus on safety, quality, attendance, and work ethic.\nProvide clear, respectful instructions and feedback to team members.\nAssist in conducting performance evaluations by providing input, documentation, and observations on employee performance.\nSupport in administering disciplinary actions, including documenting incidents, coaching employees, and participating in disciplinary meetings in accordance with company policies.\nHelp resolve minor conflicts or issues within the team and escalate when necessary.\nSupport a positive, respectful work environment that encourages teamwork and accountability.\n6.
