The technician determines the cause of failure and possible corrective actions. The\nselected candidate shall be able to read and work from blueprints, parts lists, and assembly protocols. There will be use of parts washers, freezers, ovens, cranes, fork trucks, presses, torches, hand, and power tools. The selected candidate will be responsible for disassembling units, inspecting disassembled parts, write up and reporting failed parts, and advise on replacement parts.\nJob Responsibilities:\nService and maintenance on Flender gear drives which include bevel, helical, planetary, worm gear, mixer drive, mill drive, single and double screw extruder units, hoist and swing gear drives, variator drives, marine drives, couplings and their subassemblies\nDirect interaction and coordination with site personnel\nTroubleshoot errors and advise on corrective action\nManage technical issues with supporting engineering functions\nSelf-motivated and able to work a flexible schedule as required (weekends may be required)\nAbility to analyze and resolve issues independently and efficiently\nWrite customer facing reports, including photography\nCreate expense reports Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:\n10 years prior experience in power transmission, heavy equipment assembly, or wind gearbox applications.\nEquivalent of 5 years’ experience specifically in field service operations\nKnowledge and experience with blueprints, metric system, work standards, ISO and quality documentation, basic gearing and bearings\nAdvanced mechanical skills\nExperience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel\nPhysically and mentally able to work suspended from heights and in confined spaces\nAbility to climb stairs and ladders generally up to 125 meters in height or similar, ability to lift, push, pull, carry items up to 50 lbs. in weight, and the ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time\nFlexible travel schedule\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nMust meet body weight restrictions must allow safe use of ladders and equipment as required by the safety regulations\nMust pass a physical administered by a medical practitioner to ensure ability to safely perform the job functions and meet the physical demands of the position\nDriving is an essential function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver’s license at the time of application with an acceptable driving record.
