The role plays a key part in maintaining payroll compliance, supporting time and attendance systems, and delivering a great experience for employees across the business.\nThis is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the detail of payroll, understands employment legislation and payroll compliance, and takes pride in delivering high-quality service in a complex and fast-paced environment.\nWhat you'll be doing\nYou'll take ownership of your allocated pay runs from start to finish, ensuring everything is accurate, compliant and delivered on time. Your day-to-day will include:\nManaging the end-to-end payroll process, including time and attendance inputs, employee data maintenance and payroll processing. \nEnsuring employees are paid accurately and on time across each pay cycle. \nWorking closely with time and attendance systems, providing guidance on pay rules, testing changes and helping ensure system configurations are accurate and fit for purpose. \nProcessing and reviewing allowances, deductions, KiwiSaver contributions and other payroll payments. \nCompleting payroll reporting, month-end reconciliations and year-end activities. \nSupporting payroll compliance requirements, including monitoring work patterns and ensuring compliance with employment legislation, tax obligations and employee entitlements. \nMaintaining a strong focus on payroll controls, accuracy and data security. \nInvestigating and resolving payroll queries, escalating issues where appropriate and ensuring a positive customer experience. \nBuilding strong relationships across Payroll, People & Performance, Finance, Systems teams and the wider business. \nIdentifying opportunities for continuous improvement and supporting the implementation of positive change. \nAbout you\nYou'll bring solid payroll experience and be confident working in a dynamic business environment where accuracy, compliance and customer service really matter.\nIdeally, you'll have:\nAt least 3 years' experience in a high-volume payroll environment. \nStrong knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation, payroll compliance and the Holidays Act. \nExperience interpreting Collective and Individual Employment Agreements \nA strong understanding of payroll controls, tax obligations, KiwiSaver and employee entitlements. \nThe ability to perform off-system payroll calculations and identify discrepancies. \nExperience managing payroll compliance across end-to-end payroll processes. \nStrong attention to detail, accuracy and numeracy skills. \nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills. \nClear and professional communication skills with a customer-focused approach. \nNZPPA certification (Level 3 or above) would be advantageous but not essential \nMost importantly, you'll be someone who takes ownership, enjoys solving problems, embraces continuous improvement and isn't afraid to challenge the way things are done when there's a better approach.\nWhy join us?\nThis is a chance to join a large, diverse and established business where payroll plays a critical role in keeping our people and operations running smoothly.
