In this role, you'll take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing while also providing day-to-day support and guidance to Payroll Partners, helping ensure our people are paid accurately, compliantly and on time, every time.\nThis is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the detail of payroll, thrives in a high-volume environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional service to employees, managers and stakeholders across the business.\nWhat you'll be doing\nYou'll play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of payroll services, ensuring payroll activities are completed accurately, compliantly and to a high standard. Your responsibilities will include:\nTaking ownership of end-to-end payroll processing and ensuring pay runs are completed accurately and on time. \nMentoring Payroll Partners with day-to-day payroll activities \nWorking closely with time and attendance systems, providing guidance on pay rules, testing changes and ensuring configurations are accurate and effective. \nMaintaining employee data and ensuring payroll information is managed securely and accurately. \nProcessing payroll-related payments, deductions and KiwiSaver contributions. \nCompleting month-end reconciliations, payroll reporting and year-end activities. \nManaging payroll compliance across tax obligations, employee entitlements, Holidays Act requirements and payroll controls. \nInvestigating and resolving payroll queries in a timely and professional manner. \nBuilding strong relationships with People & Performance, Finance, FletcherTech and business stakeholders to deliver great customer outcomes. \nProviding ad-hoc reporting and contributing to payroll projects and initiatives as required. \nIdentifying opportunities for continuous improvement and helping implement positive change across payroll processes.\nAbout you\nYou'll bring significant payroll experience and be confident working in a dynamic environment where accuracy, compliance and customer service are critical.\nIdeally, you'll have:\n5+ years' experience in a high-volume payroll environment within New Zealand. \nStrong knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation and the Holidays Act. \nExperience interpreting Collective and Individual Employment \nStrong understanding of payroll compliance, controls and employee entitlements. \nThe ability to perform off-system payroll calculations and identify discrepancies. \nExperience maintaining compliance across end-to-end payroll processes. \nExcellent attention to detail, accuracy and numeracy skills. \nStrong communication skills with the ability to provide professional advice and support to stakeholders. \nA customer-focused mindset and a commitment to delivering service excellence.\nThe ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and perform effectively under pressure. \nNZPPA certification (Level 3 or above) would be advantageous but not essential \nMost importantly, you'll be someone who takes ownership, enjoys solving problems, builds strong relationships and is always looking for better ways of working.
