Laminex prides itself on its commitment to maintaining highly efficient and reliable assets in its manufacturing processes.\nAs a Process Engineer, you will report to the Engineering Manager and be required to work across all the processing areas and gain valuable experience in optimizing manufacturing processes at the forefront of the manufacturing industry.\nThe role you’ll play:\nThe role of the Process Engineer is essential for optimizing manufacturing processes, enhancing efficiency, and applying engineering principles to address and solve production challenges. You will provide specialist advice on the technical aspects of Particle Board production and the subsequent added value processes and systems.\nThis role supports the two operational production areas (Particle board & Finish/LPM) to ensure that each team delivers its business plan and targets. It is a responsible position with a mandate to focus on both the 'day to day' operations and longer-term initiatives in each area, continuously improving safety, quality, resource and materials utilization, environmental standards, and staff skills and competencies.\nKey focuses & responsibilities will include:\nProcess Engineering Duties: \nMonitor and analyse process performance across the particle board manufacturing process including: Wood preparation; Drying systems; Resin application; Forming and pressing operations; Finishing and sanding processes; Material handling and storage systems.\nWork on mass and energy balances.\nSupport projects with process engineering skills.\nImprove Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE): Identify, prioritize, and implement initiatives to improve OEE (Availability, Performance, and Quality).\nReduce Product cost: Use 8 waste and process control philosophies to identify, prioritize, and implement waste elimination/reduction initiatives. \nDevelop and implement process improvements to reduce variation and improve operational stability.\nApply statistical analysis, process control techniques and root cause methodologies to solve manufacturing challenges.\nEstablish and maintain process performance indicators and monitoring systems.\nTroubleshooting and process support.\nTo be successful in the role you will ideally need to possess:\nTertiary qualification in Process or Chemical Engineering (recognised by Engineering Australia) \nDemonstrated experience / skills in engineering, maintenance or project management\nProficiency in AutoCAD for mechanical and process drawings\nDemonstrated experience in presenting to senior leaders and well-developed written communication skills.\nSound understanding of product and process control interactions, product testing procedures, and analytical analysis.\nPractical experience in process and/or continuous manufacturing industry.\nPrior experience in process and quality control and continuous improvement methodologies.\nAbility to undertake detailed cost-benefit analysis and process validations.\nHigh level understanding of process change and the impact on production outcomes.\nKnowledge of ISO Quality and Environmental systems and processes.\nIf you're a resilient and adaptable professional, ready to play a critical role in our operations, we're eager to meet you.
