This role is critical to ensuring high quality, safe and commercially successful outcomes while building strong relationships with clients, partners and internal teams.\nAbout Te Awa Kairangi\nThis role supports delivery within the Te Awa Kairangi Alliance, a major project improving transport, walking and cycling connections around the SH2 Melling interchange and new rail station. The Alliance brings together Fletcher Construction, AECOM, NZTA, Taranaki Whanau and Ngāti Toa Rangatira to deliver this transformative project for the region.\nWhat you’ll be doing:\nLead end-to-end delivery of projects, from bid through to completion\nSupport tendering and pricing to produce competitive, high-quality submissions\nBuild strong client relationships and identify future work opportunities\nOversee day-to-day delivery, ensuring projects meet or exceed specifications\nCoordinate teams, subcontractors, plant and suppliers to keep projects on track\nManage project financials, reporting, and cost to complete\nEnsure smooth project administration (RFIs, variations, invoicing)\nDrive a strong safety, environmental and quality culture on site\nLead risk management and proactively manage issues and mitigations\nCollaborate with Alliance partners and procurement on subcontractor performance\nPlan and forecast workforce resourcing requirements\nContinuously improve productivity, methodologies and outcomes\nWhat you’ll bring to the role:\nEngineering Diploma or Degree (essential)\nStrong civil experience delivering complex infrastructure projects\nKnowledge of NZS 3910 and the Construction Contracts Act\nProven leadership with ability to build and motivate high-performing teams\nStrong commercial acumen (cost control, forecasting and reporting)\nExcellent stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills\nCome join the green team:\nCompetitive salary\nPermanent, full-time role with guaranteed 40 hours per week\nKiwiSaver employer contribution matched up to 4%\nOpportunities to upskill and gain further licences or qualifications\nHiggins is a leading roading and civil infrastructure company in New Zealand.
