If you are excited about a role but don't meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.\nJob Summary\n\nTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Component Engineer located on Flex Guadalajara.\nReporting to the Component Engineer Manager theComponent Engineer Responsible for providing technical support, technical capability & accountability of diverse scope to the Global Design Procurement organization to ensure continuity of supply, supplier development, supplier readiness and improvement activities in order to improve the cost, delivery, response, service & quality requirements for Flex design & customers.\nWhat a typical day looks like:\nFacilitate and identify opportunities for the redesign or component substitution to provide cost reduction,\nreliability and quality improvement and manage commodities in identifying opportunities to source with Flex preferred suppliers.\nApply corporate sourcing procedures and processes.\nSelect, find sources for and qualify components used.\nProvide technical backup for alternate sourcing recommendations, such as identifying relevant\nspecification differences and board design changes required, and providing the interface with the\nsupplier’s design team.\nApply written specifications, performance requirements and quality inspection criteria.\nCollaborate with component suppliers, development engineers, and manufacturing.\nParticipate in the rapid development of industry environmental compliance requirements\n(ROHS/WEEE) at the up-stream supply chain management to ensure full compliance to\nImplementation requirement such as supply chain compliance with global\nlegislative requirements pertaining to lead elimination and reduction of hazardous substances in\nelectronics products.\nProvide technical support to Design Centers and different market segments as needed to\nresolve manufacturing problems of moderate scope related to component performance, component\nhandling requirement & process, or internal/customer issues.\nMaintain component data management system including qualification records/results/documentation.\nDevelop written specifications, performance requirements and quality inspection criteria.\nLiaise with component suppliers, development engineers, and manufacturing.\nProvide customers with materials procurement and engineering support to meet their lead free and\nenvironmental compliance requirements.\nWork with development community and manufacturing teams to ensure that components are\ncompatible with lead-free manufacturing processes.\nThe experience we’re looking to add to our team:\nBachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering.\nExperience in electronic components engineering, component qualification, sourcing, or supply chain engineering within an electronics manufacturing environment.\nStrong knowledge of electronic components, including semiconductors, passive components, connectors, and electromechanical devices.\nExperience with component qualification, alternate sourcing, component lifecycle management, and cost reduction initiatives.\nKnowledge of component data management systems and engineering documentation processes.\nFamiliarity with supplier qualification, supplier management, and preferred supplier programs.\nUnderstanding of PCB design considerations and the impact of component substitutions on product performance and manufacturability.\nExperience working closely with suppliers, design engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.\nKnowledge of environmental compliance requirements such as RoHS, WEEE, REACH, and lead-free manufacturing processes.\nAbility to analyze component specifications, performance requirements, and quality standards.\nStrong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills related to component performance and manufacturing issues.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nAdvanced English proficiency (written and verbal).\nProficient in Microsoft Office and engineering databases/tools used for component management.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nWhat you’ll receive for the great work you provide:\nCompetitive Salary.\nLife & Medical insurance.\nChristmas Bonus.\nFood Coupons.\nSaving Fund\nKC10\nJob Category\nProduction EngineeringRequired Skills:\nOptional Skills:\nFlex is an Equal Opportunity Employer and employment selection decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and abilities.
