If you are excited about a role but don't meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.Job Summary\n\nThe “Cost Accountant” will be based in Austin, TX, reporting to the Assistant Controller.\nIn this role, you will prepare and maintain accounting records, and research and interpret financial data to give guidance and prepare statements. You will work closely with Finance and Operations teams to keep the books accurate, explain variances, and support forecasting and budgeting.\nWhat a typical day looks like:\nReview the Profit and Loss (P&L) accounts regularly to make sure all postings follow defined policies, processes, and procedures.\nCompare actuals against forecast and quote, research variances, and post any required adjustments.\nCollect the business reasons for remaining variances and report on them.\nReconcile scoped balance sheet accounts against sub-ledgers and manual schedules, and resolve any variances in the books.\nReview accounts regularly to spot potential risks and make sure they are addressed.\nPlan and carry out month-end close and reporting activities on time and accurately.\nPartner with relevant teams to prepare forecasts and budgets for assigned accounts.\nWork with the Operations team to improve business and operational metrics.\nStay current on accounting, regulatory, and reporting requirements, including the Controller’s Handbook and RCTS.\nWhat we’re looking to add to our team:\nTypically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
