If you are excited about a role but don't meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.Job Summary\n\nGeneral Purpose:\nThe Import/Export Analyst will be responsible for providing operational expertise to enhance the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the department by establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships, liaising with operations, customers and carriers to ensure customer satisfaction and to deliver maximum advantage to the business.\nPrinciple Accountabilities:\nManage all imports and exports through airlines, haulers and customs.\nResponsible for P&L control for department.\nImport Compliance\nReviews contracts for required clauses and identifies omissions. \nInterfaces with internal and external customers, foreign order administration, freight forwarders, customs officers and other functional areas to ensure coordination and logistics of shipment. \nSelects carrier/forwarder for shipment of products and prepares documents for freight forwarders.\nMaintain accurate Import Compliance within the site for all inbound international shipments.\nImplement and maintain record-keeping system to comply with U. S. Customs.\nConducts entry adjustments with U.S. Customs when necessary.\nPerform regular audits as deemed mandatory with several departments to identify, disclose and work to fix any potential Import Compliance concerns in alignment with Trade Compliance Coordinators.\nCode international freight invoices for inbound shipments, as well as domestic truck load shipments to unipersonal departments within the site. \nResearch short paid invoices and resolve any related issues.\nMaintain and update inbound/outbound carrier routing guide for site per Corporate Logistics guidelines.\nDistribute routing guides to Purchasing, Shipping and various other departments.\nNotify departments within the site of any non-compliant issues.\nFile claims with the carrier/insurance companies per the Corporate Logistics procedure for compensation of lost/damaged freight while in the care of the carrier.\nMaintain claims data and interact with Corporate Logistics and insurance company/carrier to resolve claim issues/questions.\nCommunicate with Purchasing and Manufacturing departments to hold up in part clarification.\nInteracts with Corporate Trade Compliance to ensure Import/Export Compliance processes are up to date to meet U.S. customs rules and regulations\nEnsure U.S. customs guidelines are followed by vendors, purchasing, broker, site logistics and other accountable parties.\nClassify importing items with correct Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)\nEnsure Food and Drug Administration, Federal Communications Commission, U.S. Goods return forms and Fumigation Certificates are provided and on file for parts requiring this information.\nNotify members of the site’s Compliance team should a discrepancy in the audit be noted and drive escalation as appropriate to resolve issue.\nCorrect and file entry documents for identified entries.\nMaintain Certification of Origin (COO) database used to identify non-compliant vendors.\nExport Compliance\nComplete international and domestic rate quotes per request by site management.\nPrepare rate comparisons between carriers.\nTrack international shipments and may track domestic shipments.\nProvide proof of delivery for shipments.\nResearch freight issues. \nAudit special need deliveries to identify issues and concerns.\nFile or assist with filing freight claims for international and domestic shipments.\nMaintain and update carrier routing guide.\nTrain various site departments on usage of carrier route guide.\nArrange expedited shipments by request to meet customer needs.\nCoordinate international truck load shipments.\nAudit domestic and international inbound carrier freight invoices.\nAddress issues regarding freight invoices with carrier and payment company\nIdentify ways for freight and cost savings.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree and a minimum of 9 years of related experience.\nDemonstrates expert functional, technical and people and/or process management skills.\nDemonstrates detailed expertise in very complex functional/ technical area or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas; comprehend the strategic impact of the function across sites.\nMust be able to lead major initiatives across multiple sites.\nMut be able to exercise independent judgment using ambiguously defined procedures and policies.\nPreferred\nIATA & DOT certification for DG Cargo management.\nKnowledge of hazardous materials/ dangerous goods.\nMF15\nWhat you'll receive for the great work you provide:\nFull range of medical, dental, and vision plans\nLife Insurance\nShort-term and Long-term Disability\nMatching 401(k) Contributions\nVacation and Paid Sick Time\nTuition Reimbursement\n\nApplication Deadline:\nApplications for this job position will be accepted for at least five days following the job posting start date below and continuing until the end date below or until the position is filled.
