This role will focus on the mechanical design and integration of automation cells utilizing industrial robots, custom end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), automated fastening systems, vision systems, and precision assembly equipment.This position is based onsite in Austin, TX\nWhat a typical day looks like:\nDesign and develop automated assembly cells, workstations, and production equipment to improve throughput, quality, and efficiency.\nCreate 3D CAD models, mechanical layouts, detailed drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.\nDesign functional prototypes and custom tooling through 3D printing to support engineering and automation projects.\nDesign and develop custom automated solutions, including robotic, end-of-arm-tooling (EOAT) for material handling, assembly, fastening, inspections and insertion as well as fixture applications, and poka-yoke systems.\nPerform engineering analyses, including tolerance stack-ups, structural calculations, cycle time studies, and mechanical stress evaluations.\nSupport equipment commissioning, debugging, validation, and production startup activities.\nCollaborate with Electrical, Controls, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering teams to integrate automation solutions and establish process controls.\nWork with suppliers and machine builders on custom automation equipment and tooling.\nSupport project planning, cost estimation, procurement, scheduling, and supplier management.\nEnsure designs meet safety, reliability, manufacturability, and company engineering standards.\nThe experience we’re looking to add to our team\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.\n2+ years of experience\nProficiency with 3D CAD software and mechanical design documentation (SolidWorks preferred)\nExperience designing automated manufacturing equipment, robotics, and assembly systems.\nStrong knowledge of industrial robots, EOAT, fastening technologies, conveyors, sensors, and automation hardware.\nUnderstanding of DFM, DFA, DFR, tolerance analysis, and machine design principles.\nExperience supporting equipment integration, testing, and production launch activities.\nStrong problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nJS21\nWhat you'll receive for the great work you provide:\nFull range of medical, dental, and vision plans\nLife Insurance\nShort-term and Long-term Disability\nMatching 401(k) Contributions\nVacation and Paid Sick Time\nTuition Reimbursement\n\nApplication Deadline:\nApplications for this job position will be accepted for at least five days following the job posting start date below and continuing until the end date below or until the position is filled.
