This role is responsible for developing and implementing engineering solutions to improve product quality, reliability, and manufacturing efficiency. The Mechanical Engineer will also provide technical support, conduct root cause analysis, and drive cost reduction and process enhancement projects.\nWhat a typical day looks like:\nDevelop and improve manufacturing methods for composite products and assemblies.\nDesign and modify production tooling, fixtures, jigs, and inspection gauges.\nUse CAD software to develop engineering solutions and support manufacturing improvements.\nReview engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T to ensure components can be manufactured efficiently and accurately.\nSupport new product introductions, engineering changes, manufacturing trials, and process validation.\nInvestigate manufacturing issues involving product defects, dimensional variation, equipment performance, and assembly processes.\nIdentify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, cycle times, and manufacturing costs.\nApply root cause analysis and structure problem-solving techniques to resolve recurring production issues.\nWork alongside production operators and technicians to implement process improvements.\nSupport process capability studies, measurement system evaluations, and manufacturing quality improvements.\nEvaluate new materials, equipment, tooling, and manufacturing techniques.\nCreate and maintain engineering documentation, manufacturing instructions, process specifications, and inspection requirements.\nSupport continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.\nProvide technical guidance and training to production personnel when new processes or equipment are introduced.\nThe experience we’re looking to add to our team:\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.\nIdeally 2-5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar technical position.\nStrong mechanical engineering knowledge and practical manufacturing experience.\nExperience working within manufacturing, machining, fabrication, assembly, or production environments.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.\nExperience using CAD software, ideally SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Siemens NX.\nStrong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.\nUnderstanding of manufacturing process development and continuous improvement.\nFamiliarity with engineering problem-solving techniques such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, and DOE.\nKnowledge of manufacturing quality systems, including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.\nExperience with inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, or CMMs.\nUnderstanding of SPC, process capability, and measurement system analysis.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineering and production teams.\nAC29\nWhat you'll receive for the great work you provide:\nFull range of medical, dental, and vision plans\nLife Insurance\nShort-term and Long-term Disability\nMatching 401(k) Contributions\nVacation and Paid Sick Time\nTuition Reimbursement\n\nApplication Deadline:\nApplications for this job position will be accepted for at least five days following the job posting start date below and continuing until the end date below or until the position is filled.
