They will be working in all areas of our plant including fascia assembly, weld assembly, and upcoming MY26 launch of front fascia. \nWork closely with the Quality Manager as your mentor. Learn different aspects of the business including assembly process, potential failure mode and effect analysis, control plans, data collection and analysis, developing standardized work instructions, line balancing, process optimization. Focus on continuous improvement to ensure most efficient and productive operation of manufacturing processes.\nResponsibilities\nWork closely with manufacturing teams onsite to complete various program objectives.\nTeam up with program management to respond to customer requirements.\nLearn the basic functions of FNG Program Lifecycle Management (PLM) software. Assist with clerical items and documentation for Advanced Product Development.\nWork with management to establish long term summer project and report out upon completion of internship.\nBuilding and packaging of pilot builds\nAssist in the preparation of assembly build instructions\nPerforming gage R&R studies\nParticipating in dimensional capability studies\nTracking and accounting for inbound pilot and early production materials\nWork with respective engineer to advance his/her skill sets in preparation for schooling development\nEvaluates manufacturing processes, designs new systems and processes for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones.\nDevelops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.\nParticipates actively and effectively in continuous improvement plans related to position responsibilities\nImproves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.\nThe Engineering Intern will participate in projects focusing primarily on material consumption and movement, work area optimization, and waste reduction. These projects will require the Engineering Intern to:\nMonitor and develop productivity standards for functional areas based on work measurement,\nIdentify exceptions, formulate recommendations, and implement process improvements and perform operational observation and process documentation. \nQualifications\nMust be a major in area of studies such as Mechanical/Industrial engineering\nAbility to use MS Office, AutoCAD & other analytical and planning tools\nPossesses strong analytic and statistic skills\nHas ability to work independently\nRead drawings, and engineering instructions\nApply knowledge of engineering science and technology\nIdentify problems, develop and evaluate options to implement solutions\nWork with manufacturers or field representatives as necessary\nListens effectively to manufacturing personnel to assess problems and solutions\nParticipate in department training programs\nMaintain up-to-date engineering knowledge and stay current with industry trends and best practices\nUnderstanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles\nEffective statistical analysis skills\nEffective research and communication skills\nEffective with written and oral communications\nMust have a valid drivers license.
