If you are excited about a role but don't meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.Job Summary\n\nThe Quality Metrology Technician located in Buffalo Grove, IL, is responsible for developing test methods and procedures to evaluate product dimensional features, performing validation and production inspections on products manufactured and assembled in production, and ensuring the proper use, calibration, and maintenance of measurement tools and equipment.\nHours: 6am-230pm (Mon-Fri)\nPrincipal Accountabilities:\nDevelops and uses measurement methods and equipment to define the dimension features of products conform to the design features. \nProgram and use CMM, OGP, vision systems, and form tracking systems \nDevelop measurement programs for use by quality inspectors and production personnel \nPerform inspection and testing of molded components and assemblies for conformance to design and configuration requirements \nUtilize inspection measurement tools (i.e. micrometers, calipers, drop indicators, thread gauges, plug gauges, comparators etc.) \nTroubleshooting OGP and CMM programs and system malfunctions. \nOptimize inspection methods to expedite inspections and manage equipment capacity \nTrain colleagues / technicians/inspectors on vision system (i.e. - OGP) and Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) operation for parts being ran on production floor \nPerform workmanship evaluations on plastic parts (flash, damage, discoloration, contamination, etc.) using microscopes \nCompile and explore measurement data and statistics to assess measurement methods and process capability \nPerform Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GRR) studies to evaluate measurement methods \nPerform tests and records data on spreadsheets \nIdentify and Report Non-conformances of product or processes \nProvide help for Corrective Action investigation \nQualifications:\nTypically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent technical training.\nTypically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience.\n5 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality environment.\n3 to Five 5 years’ experience programming Measure mind and running OGP 500 (Probe/vision system) and/or 3 to 5 years’ experience programming Calypso and running Zeiss (CMM machine).\nAbility to provide QC Calc supporting data on all measurements taken.\nVision and/or Coordinate Measurement Machine certificate (Measure X, Measure Mind, Calypso), or relevant experience.
