If the intended spin occurs, this role will support Axiom, a company focused on critical digital infrastructure and delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.\n\nTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Test Technician 2 located in Henrico, VA.\nReporting to the Operations Engineering Manager the Test Technician 2 role involves testing and verifying the performance of power distribution equipment; reading and interpreting technical documents; performing inspections, testing, and repairs; accurately recording test data; completing technical reports and factory acceptance tests; collaborating cross-functionally to ensure product specifications are met; and maintaining a safe, clean testing environment.\nWhat a typical day looks like:\nTest & verify the performance/function of power distribution equipment and assemblies, using multi-meters, current meters, HI-POT Testers, Phase Rotation Meters, and other testing equipment.\n\nRead blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly, ensuring conformance to product specifications.\n\nRead inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, and certification processes to ensure proper test procedures are followed.\n\nObtain and accurately record data obtained during testing using a computer and several types of programs not limited to Modbus Poll, Adobe Acrobat, Word, Excel, various web interfaces, and other specialized programs.\n\nComplete inspection of all electrical equipment coming into the Test areas.\n\nCompletion of technical reports and Factory Acceptance Tests.\n\nVerify and install revolving cable layouts for different jobs.\n\nMake necessary repairs and/or refer test issues to Supervisor for further diagnosis.\n\nCollaborate with other departments to ensure company product specifications are being followed or to assist with other manufacturing needs.\n\nReport defective materials or questionable conditions to the Test Department Supervisor.\n\nMaintain a safe and clean working environment within all Test areas.\n\nAll other duties as assigned.\n\nThe experience we’re looking to add to our team:\nHigh school diploma or GED with 1-2 years of hands-on experience testing low-voltage power distribution systems; associate degree or technical degree in electronics, engineering, or a related field preferred.\n\nEquivalent military training or experience in electronics, electrical systems, engineering, or related technical disciplines.\n\nPrior experience with low-voltage switchgear, power distribution units (PDUs), remote power panels (RPPs), static switches, and powered busway systems preferred; data center or other mission-critical environment experience strongly preferred.\n\nWorking knowledge of applicable safety standards and electrical codes, including NFPA 70E, NEC, UL, and IEC.\n\nSolid understanding of three-phase power, DC power systems, electrical power generation, and AC/DC power distribution.\n\nAbility to recognize hazardous conditions and apply safe work practices before performing testing or troubleshooting activities.\n\nDemonstrated troubleshooting capability at the circuit board and component level.\n\nProficiency in the use of a wide range of hand tools and electrical test equipment.\n\nAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.\n\nCompetence using computers and software applications for data entry, testing documentation, and reporting.\n\nStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a professional, cooperative, and organized working relationship within a team environment.\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to follow detailed instructions and apply mathematical formulas and concepts accurately.\n\nFlexibility to work overtime, weekends, or extended hours as business needs require.\n\nWhat you'll receive for the great work you provide:\nFull range of medical, dental, and vision plans\nLife Insurance\nShort-term and Long-term Disability\nMatching 401(k) Contributions\nVacation and Paid Sick Time\nTuition Reimbursement\n\nApplication Deadline:\nApplications for this job position will be accepted for at least five days following the job posting start date below and continuing until the end date below or until the position is filled.
