Teacher - Burdekin Education Program
- Tenure: Continuing, Full Time
- Start Date: As soon as can be negotiated with successful applicant
- Salary Range: $86,600 - $124,724 per annum
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Teacher reports to the Head of Campus and Area Principal. They have delegated responsibility to develop and maintain learning and social inclusion responses of the campus. This includes:
- Planning, preparation and delivery of engaging learning and teaching programs for Young People in the middle and secondary phase of education.
- Creating flexible, innovative curriculum to engage Young People.
- Planning and implementing class and individual learning programs that meet legislative requirements and support Young People with diverse learning needs and disabilities.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of the EREAFSL objectives and planning.
- Working collaboratively with all staff to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment and develop learning experiences that reflect classroom diversity and cater for individual learning needs.
- Applying the EREAFSL Flexi Practice Framework, including Common Ground, Operation by Principles, Trauma Aware Practice, Collaborative Problem Solving and culturally responsive approaches to support engagement, inclusion and learning outcomes for Young People.
- Proactively building relationships with Young People, families/carers, and the community to ensure the best outcomes are achieved for each Young Person.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor of Education (Primary or Secondary).
- Current registration with the state or territory’s relevant teaching authority.
- A current First Aid certificate or ability to obtain.
- A current Driver’s License.
- Demonstrated successful teaching experience, normally including at least three years of professional practice.

Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools Ltd currently educates over 2,700 young people in 22 Flexible Learning Schools (12 based in Queensland and 10 other schools across Australia) and two Special Education Services Schools in NSW, with approximately 800 staff nationally. Flexi schools serve young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses.
