This role is responsible for leading complex accounting activities, reviewing the work of other accountants, identifying accounting risks, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP.\nUnlike a traditional people manager role, this position is primarily focused on technical accounting excellence. The successful candidate will act as the team's accounting subject matter expert while providing day-to-day guidance and support to junior accounting staff\nKey Responsabilities:\nTechnical Accounting\nLead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process.\nReview complex journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.\nEnsure compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies.\nPerform detailed balance sheet and P&L reviews.\nReview accruals, prepaid expenses, deferred revenue, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and revenue recognition.\nIdentify accounting errors before financial statements are finalized.\nInvestigate variances and unusual accounting activity.\nPrepare and review account reconciliations with complete supporting documentation.\nSupport external and internal audits.\nLeadership\nServe as the primary technical accounting resource for the Mexico accounting team.\nReview work prepared by Staff and Senior Accountants.\nCoach team members on accounting concepts and best practices.\nProvide guidance during the month-end close process.\nPromote accountability, ownership, and strong accounting controls.\nEscalate material accounting issues and reporting risks proactively.\nProcess Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes and internal controls.\nStandardize reconciliations and month-end close procedures.\nImprove documentation and audit readiness.\nRecommend solutions for recurring accounting issues.\nPartner closely with the Controller on process improvements.\nRequirements\nBachelor's Degree in Public Accounting.\nActive Professional License (Cédula Profesional).\n8-15+ years of progressive accounting experience.\nStrong full-cycle accounting experience.\nExtensive month-end close experience.\nAdvanced US GAAP knowledge.\nStrong balance sheet reconciliation experience.\nAdvanced accrual accounting knowledge.\nExperience reviewing and correcting journal entries.\nExperience identifying accounting risks before financial reporting.\nExperience mentoring or supervising accounting staff.\nAdvanced Excel.\nProfessional English communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious experience in a small public accounting firm.\nProperty accounting experience.\nYardi experience.\nERP experience (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, etc.).\nExperience supporting U.S. companies.\nExperience participating in external
