About the Role

Join the College of Medicine and Public Health as a Senior Lecturer in Medical Education, where you will play a key leadership role in delivering outstanding teaching and learning experiences across medical and medical bioscience programs, with a particular focus on physiology. This position is suited to an experienced educator who is passionate about curriculum innovation, educational excellence, and student success, and who can provide strategic leadership in teaching, course development, accreditation, and academic service within a dynamic university environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of high-quality teaching across physiology, medical and medical bioscience topics and courses.

  • Drive curriculum development, course renewal and educational innovation, incorporating contemporary teaching practices, technologies and learning approaches.

  • Provide educational leadership through course and topic coordination, mentoring staff and students, and promoting best practice in teaching and learning.

  • Contribute to accreditation, compliance, committee leadership and strategic initiatives that support the College, University and broader professional community.

This position makes a significant contribution to the University’s strategic plan to change 10 million lives, Every One Matters, by 2035 through directly contributing to the strategic driver of Student Centricity. By delivering exceptional learning experiences, leading innovative curriculum design, and fostering student success, the Senior Lecturer in Medical Education helps develop capable, career-ready graduates equipped to make meaningful contributions to society and the health sector.

About You

You are a passionate and experienced educator with a strong background in medical, physiology or medical bioscience education and a demonstrated commitment to student success. You bring a track record of teaching excellence, curriculum innovation and academic leadership, together with the ability to inspire learners, collaborate with colleagues and drive continuous improvement in higher education teaching and learning.

To be successful in this position, you will:

  • Hold a PhD, EdD or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline such as physiology, medicine or medical bioscience, with a strong understanding of contemporary educational practice.

  • Demonstrate sustained excellence in tertiary teaching, including successful topic and/or course coordination and a commitment to enhancing student outcomes.

  • Bring experience leading curriculum development and implementing innovative teaching approaches, including the effective use of learning technologies and online learning platforms.

  • Possess outstanding communication, leadership and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, colleagues and external stakeholders.
