Responsibilities\nDevelop and maintain a strong technical understanding of the firm’s systems and applications, including their capabilities, limitations, integrations, dependencies and how they support business processes.\nElicit, analyse, challenge and document business and technical requirements, ensuring the underlying business need, expected outcome and acceptance criteria are clearly understood.\nTranslate business requirements into clear, technically informed specifications that can be understood and delivered by developers, internal IT teams and third-party suppliers.\nUnderstand the applications and technology in which solutions will be delivered, ensuring requirements are realistic, technically viable and aligned with the existing technology landscape.\nWork closely with developers, technical teams and suppliers to shape solution options, identifying system impacts, integrations, dependencies, constraints and potential risks.\nAct as the link between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, translating business needs into technical requirements and technical concepts into clear business language.\nDevelop a detailed understanding of business and legal processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, automation and user experience through technology.\nAnalyse existing systems, processes, workflows and data flows to identify gaps, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.\nProduce clear functional and technical documentation, including requirements, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, impact assessments and solution documentation.\nAssess the impact of proposed changes across systems and business processes, identifying affected applications, integrations, data, users and operational processes.\nSupport solutions throughout the delivery lifecycle, from initial requirements and solution design through development, testing, implementation and business adoption.\nWork with business and technical teams to ensure delivered solutions meet agreed requirements and expected business outcomes, supporting clarification and resolution of issues throughout delivery.\nDrive continuous improvement of existing applications and processes, identifying opportunities to simplify, automate and modernise how the firm operates.\nMaintain awareness of relevant technology developments and system capabilities, using this knowledge to identify practical opportunities for innovation and improvement.\nUndertake analysis of operational issues and system behaviour, working with technical teams to identify root causes, requirements and appropriate solutions.\nChampion technology-led improvement across the firm, challenging existing processes where technology can provide a more effective, efficient or scalable approach.\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\nPrevious experience in an IT Business Analyst, Systems Analyst or similar technology-focused role.\nA strong understanding of business applications, systems architecture, integrations and data flows.\nExperience gathering, analysing and documenting both business and technical requirements.\nThe ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable technical specifications.\nExperience working closely with developers, infrastructure teams, software vendors and other technical stakeholders.\nStrong knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing processes and change delivery.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and recommend practical solutions.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.\nA
