In addition, this position is responsible for training and developing Customer Service Associates.\nMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES\nCustomer Service\nA member of the store Junior Management Team.\nAct and work in a manner that is consistent with company’s core values.\nDemonstrate a thorough understanding and compliance with the company’s safe lifting practices standard operating procedures.\nProvide direction to all Customer Service Associates to ensure a highly attentive and accurate level of customer service.\nGreet every customer in a helpful and courteous manner.\nDemonstrate a thorough understanding and compliance of all customer service-related standard operating procedures (cashiering, credit and close-out).\nProcess customers at checkout using the point of sale (POS) system.\nProcess customer refunds and exchanges according to established guidelines.\nOpen and close registers.\nFollow established cash, check and charge card acceptance procedures.\nAnswer the telephone according to accepted guidelines.\nStock and tag merchandise displays as required.\nCreate price tags and merchandise signs.\nReview and assess the performance of associates on a timely basis\nTrain, develop and supervise and define workload for associates.\nMonitor associate retention and career development; communicate ideas to General Manager.\nAddress and document unsatisfactory performance and policy violations of associates through administration of disciplinary action and performance counseling.\nEnsure compliance to scheduling, hiring, payroll and business planning processes.\nMonitor, maintain and follow company policies; support company expectations and systems.\nMINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS\nOne year customer service/cashier supervisory experience and proven ability direct operations. \nAbility to perform in a high volume, highly complex location. \nAbility to demonstrate initiative and be a self-starter.\nDemonstrated proficiency in training associates.\nExcellent communication, delegation, follow-up, and analytical skills. \nAbility to exercise independent discretion and judgment in supervising a fast-paced environment adapting to change with a sense of urgency. \nThis position description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
