We offer an excellent comprehensive benefits package, a supportive and collaborative work environment, and endless growth opportunities.\nAbout the Job:\nWe are actively hiring a Laboratory Technician to support our Miami, Florida site.\nShift: Monday-Friday day shift (40 hours per week)\nLocation: Onsite, Miami, FL\nFLSA Classification: Non-Exempt\nRequirements\nPURPOSE: To provide support to clinical research coordinators by obtaining, processing, and shipping lab samples daily, as defined by sponsors’ protocols, as well as Flourish Research’s policies and procedures and OSHA requirements. To provide administrative support to the regulatory department, to CRCs and to management as needed to facilitate the smooth operation of business at a Flourish Research site.\nReports to: Site Director\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:\nRead, understand, and follow instruction manuals and sponsor protocols regarding laboratory specimens to be obtained following appropriate timelines per protocol. \nObtain, process and ship laboratory specimens using good laboratory techniques and following OSHA and IATA regulations. \nObtain and maintain IATA certification within the laboratory and clinic. \nMaintain confidentiality of patient and protocol issues as appropriate and as bound by Confidentiality Agreements with Flourish Research, between Flourish Research and sponsors, and between Flourish Research and other entities in compliance with all HIPAA regulations. \nPromptly report any adverse events or laboratory incidents to management that occur with patients when obtaining or processing lab specimens. \nEnsure availability of appropriate amounts of laboratory supplies. \nUse professionalism in all communications with patients, sponsors, physicians, clinic staff, Flourish Research employees, etc. whether communications occur in person, via telephone, or via electronic modes. \nAttend required training courses/conferences to stay abreast of current and changing federal regulations and Flourish Research policies. \nPursue educational opportunities to increase knowledge of the research process, good laboratory practices, OSHA, and IATA regulations. \nPerform all duties in a safe and prudent manner. \nPerform other duties as assigned. \nRepresent Flourish Research in a professional and courteous manner (verbal, written and in appearance) when interacting with all staff, clients, and vendors. \nAdditional duties as assigned by management. \nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:\nWork is normally performed in a typical interior clinical/office work environment. \nTravel required.\nExposure to human bodily fluids. \nLaboratory processing procedures. \nSubject/Patient care. \nDaily computer use. \nOccasional night and weekend work schedules. \nAbility to properly lift thirty-five pounds and occasionally more than thirty-five pounds. \nAbility to drive, and daily availability of an automobile. \nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience as a research laboratory technician.\nExperience: Minimum of 1-3+ years’ experience within the field of clinical or biological research.\nKnowledge and Skills:\nDemonstrates core values & all skills set required. \nAble to obtain blood specimens via venipuncture using sterile technique. \nAble to effectively instruct patients regarding proper techniques for obtaining urine and other biological specimens. \nAble to read, understand and assimilate required protocol specific laboratory procedures to be performed to include correct schedule of laboratory samples to be obtained, methods of obtaining specimens, methods of processing specimens and methods of shipping specimens using IATA and OSHA defined processes. \nAdministrative organizational skills to ensure proper routing of laboratory test results, phone calls, maintenance of all laboratory manuals, equipment, and supplies. \nAssists with key initiatives/process improvements in the department. \nAssists with training company new hires. \nCompletes at least 80% of goals annually. \nBenefits\nHealth, dental, and vision insurance plans, 401(k) with a 100% employer match on the first 4% of employee contributions, tuition reimbursement, parental leave, employee referral program, employee assistance program, life insurance, disability insurance, and a generous PTO plan covering vacation, sick, personal days and 8 paid holidays.\nEEO STATEMENT FOR ALL POSTINGS (Place under Benefits Summary, above)\nFlourish Research is an equal employment opportunity employer.
