This role partners closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, quality, and other cross-functional teams to analyze processes, identify root causes of performance gaps, and deliver sustainable improvement initiatives. The CIP Engineer will utilize data-driven problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, root cause analysis, and standard work to reduce waste, improve process capability, optimize workflow, and increase equipment and labor effectiveness. The role also supports the development of a continuous improvement culture by facilitating improvement projects, tracking results, standardizing successful solutions, and coaching team members on structured problem-solving techniques. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and technical skills with a hands-on approach and the ability to influence teams across the organization. Success in this position is measured by the delivery of measurable, sustainable improvements in operational performance and the effective implementation of continuous improvement practices.\n\nResponsibilities & Requirements:\nImplement & support lean manufacturing (develop cell layout and design based upon projected customer demand, incorporate safety and ergonomic factors, electronic data presentation and tracking, progressive quality checks, linearity, etc.) \nChampion continuous improvement efforts associated with various manufacturing processes\nUtilize data to perform root cause identification and implement root cause corrective actions.\nParticipate in cross-functional teams to improve lead times, reduce product cost, analyze and reduce costs of nonconformance, evaluate new products and/or product enhancements, etc.\nCreation and implementation of best practice Lean vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.\nSupport and implementation of new business initiatives and projects and review the impact.\nDevelop and implement a robust continuous improvement strategy in partnership with the team and other stakeholders.\nSupport the mission and targets of the company.\nHandle and report on production, projects, risks, dependencies, budgets, resources, issues, critical milestones, required investments.\nDefine and implement actions to ensure success and conformity.\nUndertake and organize continuous training and development utilizing the train-the-trainer methodology\nIdentify business improvement opportunities with proactive strategies for implementation.\nEnsure that all activities are in accordance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures as defined by the local VIOSH and company HSE requirements.\nDevelop and build a culture of encouragement, empowerment and engagement.\nDevelop annual development plans and provide input on organization/capability/succession planning.\nMotivate and coach to operational success.\nInput and hold responsibility for budgets.\nMonthly/Quarter/Annual forecast activities.\nCost follow-up.\nAnticipate and overcome obstacles to reach the target.\nDevelop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.\nEnsure an effective interface with the departmental staff is maintained.\nOther duties as assigned.\nPreferred Experience / Skills:\nExcellent cross-functional team leadership and management skills.\nBS or BA Degree in a relevant field,\nBS/MS degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or similar preferred\nExcellent written, verbal and presentation skills.\nExcellent organizational and follow-up skills.\nCompetent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.\nCommercially and financially aware.\n8+ years’ experience in a manufacturing and/or engineering environment.\nSix Sigma Black Belt, Green Belt, or LEAN Certified \n7 Quality Tool Practitioner (fishbone, 5 Why’s/ Ishikawa, Histograms, Control Charts, Pareto Analysis, Scatter Diagrams, and Stratification)\nBackground in project management.\nKnowledge of ERP systems, preferred SAP, including production modules.\nThe pay range for this role is $78,451.34 - $117,732.17 per year.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4326,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":8,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Manufacturing","Energy Efficiency","Industrial Machinery"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-30T14:01:41Z"}],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":0,"expected_fill_days":30,"reasons":["conf:15","win:early","comp:brand"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:07:56Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":117732,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/flowserve-cip-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/flowserve-cip-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-01T05:07:56Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":4816,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":184,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-02T00:00:00Z"}}}
