Based in Budapest, you will work with global project teams, providing expertise in mechatronic system design, systems architecture development, firmware development, signal processing, controller programming, and system cybersecurity. Your role will encompass research, ideation, proof of concept, and proof of value demonstrations, paving the way for new product development and integrated solutions. Collaborating closely with internal technical teams, engineering units, and the product management team, you will align innovation priorities and drive the development of advanced mechatronics technologies.\nResponsibilities\nProvide technical leadership on complex projects involving mechatronics and digital solutions, applying engineering principles to devise innovative solutions.\n\nLead concept development projects by: Generating innovative product or solution concepts using systematic problem-solving and design thinking. - Recommending buy / build / partner approaches for competitive product commercialization.\n\nCollaborate with technical specialists and engineering leaders to develop proofs of concept and partner with the product management team for proof-of-value demonstrations.\n\nCoordinate and develop global mechatronics platform architectures, leveraging synergies between product platforms to create a unified technology platform for all products.\n\nDrive the development of mechatronics technologies, focusing on:\n\nDigital solutions and modern drive technologies for intelligent fluid and vacuum pump systems.\n\nDigital solutions for competitive actuator products.\n\nModern electronics technologies for pneumatic-driven positioner electronics.\n\nGuide external technical teams contracted to support development of key enabling components/features outside Flowserve’s scope of expertise\n\nCollaborate with the technology scouting team to monitor industry trends, maintain networks with partners, and explore potential technology collaborations.\n\nPropose investment plans to build mechatronics platform capabilities.\n\nPartner with the strategic business management team to:\n\nDevelop detailed project charters and execution plans.\n\nSupport voice-of-customer activities and evaluate business potential.\n\nDevelop and maintain an international network with Flowserve teams and external partners, defining and evaluating global buy-build-partner opportunities.\n\nParticipate in regular reviews with business and technology leaders, providing updates on the innovation funnel.\n\nTravel up to 20% as required, primarily to the United States, Germany, and the Netherlands.\n\nRequired Qualifications and Experience\nAt least Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
