The role combines people\nleadership, month-end execution, manufacturing-cost analysis, compliance, stakeholder partnership,\nand continuous process improvement.\nKey Responsibilities\nTeam Leadership and People Management\nSupervise the team’s day-to-day cost-accounting activities, including monthly close, reporting,\nreconciliations, cost analysis, project reviews, valuation adjustments, and supplemental\nreporting.\nBalance workloads and ensure month-end deadlines, reporting timetables, service levels, and\nKPI targets are achieved.\nForecast and monitor team capacity, leave, overtime, and operational activity while maintaining\nquality and legal compliance.\nEstablish backup coverage and cross-training to protect continuity of service.\nRecruit, onboard, coach, mentor, develop, and retain capable team members.\nLead performance management, talent assessment, succession planning, and development\nplanning for the team.\nFoster an engaged, accountable culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement,\nand Flowserve values.\nCost Accounting, Closing, and Financial Analysis\nLead and review monthly closing and reporting activities for assigned reporting units, ensuring\ncomplete, accurate, and timely financial information.\nOversee sales and margin analysis and monitor manufacturing variances, identifying drivers,\nrisks, and improvement opportunities.\nCoordinate and review the annual Standard Cost Roll process.\nReview sales- and production-related valuation adjustments, including penalties, warranty costs,\ninventory write-offs, and slow- and obsolete-stock considerations.\nEnsure preparation and quality review of project-review summaries, including the process to\nsign off orders.\nLead completion and review of monthly Supplemental Reports and Quarterly Site Analytics\ntemplates.\nPartner with finance business partners to support forecasts, variance explanations, and\ndeviation analyses.\nProvide clear team reporting to stakeholders through regular and ad hoc reporting.\nControls, Compliance, and Governance\nEnsure compliance with Flowserve policies, ethical standards, US GAAP, SOX, and applicable\nlocal statutory requirements.\nImplement and maintain effective internal controls for the cost-accounting area, embedding\ngovernance standards across end-to-end processes.\nDemonstrate and maintain a thorough understanding of financial controls for local and SOX\nrequirements.\nMonitor appropriate systems access for team members in line with SOX, legal, and Flowserve\nprocess requirements.\nCoordinate and respond to internal and external audit requests.\nProcess Excellence and Stakeholder Management\nMaintain current process documentation, workflows, and the team knowledge base.\nIdentify, propose, and lead process improvements, including projects that strengthen efficiency,\ncontrol, quality, or service delivery.\nWork with process subject-matter experts, BSC teams, and sites to support transitions of\nresponsibilities into the BSC where required.\nBuild productive working relationships with site leadership, procurement, finance business\npartners, and other internal or external stakeholders.\nPartner with stakeholders to support accurate, controlled financial statements within the\nassigned domain.\nQualifications and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Studies, or a related discipline;\nan accounting degree is required for GL Supervisor roles, while economic or business studies are\npreferred for finance supervisor roles.\nAt least five years of relevant experience, including at least two years in a shared-service center;\ncost-accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is essential for this role.\nCPA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent qualification is preferred.\nSound knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS, together with practical knowledge of SOX and internal\ncontrols.\nExperience with Oracle, BPC, and SAP is beneficial.\nAdvanced Excel capability and confident use of Microsoft Office applications.\nSkills and Competencies\nDemonstrated ability to motivate, coach, develop, and manage people.\nStrong analytical ability, attention to detail, and sound judgment in resolving complex financialaccounting matters.\nClear written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to negotiate and\ninfluence stakeholders.\nStrong ownership, proactivity, and problem-solving orientation.\nAbility to prioritize competing demands, work independently, and perform effectively in a fastchanging environment.\nContinuous-improvement mindset;
