The candidate must possess strong expertise in welding of cast materials, hardfacing, overlay welding, repair welding, welding procedure qualification, and quality control for critical pressure-containing components.\nThe ideal candidate should have extensive exposure to industrial valves used in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, power, and process industries, with strong knowledge of international welding codes, metallurgy, and production optimization.\nKey Responsibilities\nWelding Engineering & Process Development\nDevelop, qualify, and optimize welding procedures (WPS/PQR/WPQR) for production and repair welding activities.\nEstablish welding parameters for:Cast carbon steel\nStainless steel castings\nAlloy steels\nDuplex & Super Duplex materials\nHigh-temperature alloys\n\nLead welding activities for:Hardfacing\nOverlay welding\nSeal welds\nSteam jacket welding\nPressure retaining welds\n\nDefine welding sequences, heat input controls, preheat/interpass temperature requirements, and PWHT requirements.\nHardfacing & Overlay Expertise\nDevelop and monitor overlay welding and hardfacing processes using:Stellite\nInconel\nSS overlays\nCobalt-based alloys\nNickel-based alloys\n\nEnsure proper dilution control, overlay thickness, bond integrity, and hardness requirements.\nTroubleshoot cracking, porosity, lack of fusion, distortion, and metallurgical failures.\nCasting & Repair Welding\nEvaluate casting defects and define acceptable repair welding methods.\nCoordinate with foundries regarding weld repair procedures and acceptance standards.\nEnsure repair welding complies with customer specifications and applicable standards.\nQuality & Compliance\nEnsure compliance with:ASME Section IX\nAPI standards\nASTM material specifications\nCustomer specifications (Aramco, ADNOC, Shell, etc.)\n\nSupport NDT activities including:RT\nPT\nMT\nUT\nPMI\nFerrite testing\nHardness testing\n\nParticipate in customer inspections and third-party audits.\nProduction & Continuous Improvement\nImprove welding productivity, quality, and consumable utilization.\nReduce weld repair rates and rework through root cause analysis.\nSupport automation initiatives and welding process standardization.\nTrain and mentor welding supervisors, operators, and inspectors.\nDocumentation & Technical Support\nPrepare technical documentation including:WPS/PQR\nWeld maps\nRepair procedures\nWeld data sheets\nNCR and CAPA reports\n\nProvide technical support during customer audits and qualification trials.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree / Diploma in:Welding Engineering\nMechanical Engineering\nMetallurgical Engineering\n\nMinimum 10+ years of relevant experience in welding engineering.\nStrong preference for candidates from:Valve manufacturing\nPressure vessel manufacturing\nOil & gas fabrication\nCritical casting industries\n\nMandatory Technical Skills\nExpertise in GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW processes.\nStrong knowledge of:Hardfacing\nOverlay welding\nCast material welding\nDissimilar metal welding\n\nKnowledge of metallurgy related to:Duplex/Super Duplex\nWC6/WC9\nF91/P91\nStainless steels\nHigh alloy steels\n\nFamiliarity with welding automation and mechanized welding systems preferred.\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and customer specifications.\nPreferred Certifications\nCSWIP / AWS / IWE / IWT certification preferred.\nNDT Level II knowledge is an added advantage.\nKey Competencies\nStrong
