This role focuses on the strip, inspection, rebuild, of industrial gas turbines in line with OEM drawings and company procedures.\nWorking closely with the Engineering team and Overhaul & Technical Services Lead, the Technician will develop hands-on mechanical expertise with gas turbine assemblies, including GEC EASI, ERBI, Siemens Energy SGT mature units and other industrial gas turbines. This role provides an opportunity to progress technically within turbine overhaul, quality assurance, and customer-focused delivery.\nKey Responsibilities and Tasks\nAll job holders need to demonstrate, understand and implement the company values within their role.\nTeamwork & Communication:\nCollaborate effectively with team members, Engineering team and other departments to deliver turbine overhauls to agreed specifications on time and on budget.\nMaintain clear communication regarding progress, challenges, and technical issues to ensure alignment with project objectives and customer requirements.\nParticipate in project meetings, and occasional site visits, applying practical engineering knowledge to enhance understanding of turbine systems.\nTake responsibility for your own development, seeking guidance and feedback from colleagues and mentors.\nSafety & Sustainability:\nWork in accordance with health, safety, and environmental standards at all times.\nEnsure safe handling and operation of all lifting equipment, cranes, and tools.\nFollow company procedures and OEM specifications to ensure compliance with quality and safety requirements.\nIdentify potential risks during the overhaul process and take appropriate action to mitigate them.\nAccountability:\nStrip, inspect, and rebuild turbine components and assemblies, completing all visual and dimensional inspections accurately.\nCarry out all gas turbine overhaul activity to a high-quality standard, recording work thoroughly in controlled documentation.\nPrepare parts for transportation to sub-contractors and inspect parts returned from repair.\nAccurately complete and sign-off work packs as part of the company quality management system.\nManage the acceptance and dispatch of goods through the workshop stores, including safe use of all cranes and lifting equipment.\nQuality & Reliability:\nEnsure all work is completed to a high standard and meets customer expectations for time, cost, and quality.\nMaintain thorough records of inspections and completed tasks via controlled documentation.\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.\nExcellence in Delivery:\nDeliver turbine overhaul projects on time and to specification, demonstrating attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.\nSupport the team with technical expertise and practical problem-solving.\nDemonstrate adaptability, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to learn and improve processes.\nRequired Skills\nEducation (qualifications & training)\nCompletion of a recognised apprenticeship in a related industry.\nONC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering; relevant hands-on experience considered in lieu of formal qualification.\nFamiliarity with industrial gas turbines, GEC units, Siemens Energy SGT mature, and, ideally, Rolls-Royce Avon, Olympus, or RB211 generators.\nCompetent in Microsoft Office or similar business systems.\nSkills (capabilities & qualities)\nStrong mechanical aptitude and practical engineering skills.\nHigh attention to detail, engineering focus and a methodical approach to work.\nEffective communication and teamwork skills.\nAn awareness of the challenges within the Energy industry, with a drive to ensure projects are completed on time, in budget and to the required quality standard.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a small team.\nAwareness of site repair, maintenance, and installation challenges.\nBasic project and financial awareness.\nCommitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.\nWhat We Can Offer You At Flowserve\nYou'll find a range of options to fit your, and your family's, needs.
